Are the English speaking commentators making a meal out of Cavendish falling off the back?

If they are, it's only because it's a VERY dull point in the stage and they're trying to generate some interest and drama.

With that it mind, de Cauwer is of the opinion that the more chilled the stage, the bigger the fireworks on a mountain top finish.

Not particularly. Just saying it'll be a hard day for him. (Yeah, him and 170 others)

Remember he's getting tailed off a group with Schleck, Contador and Evans in it. Once the autobus forms, he'll hang in there OK.

Yes fell of the back when that legendary mountain goat O'Grady put the hammer down.

Leopard looking like Postal light here.

I dont do predictions I just watch and enjoy.

He is saying if he has the legs he will take the opportunity to take time. A tough climb definitely and one where he has won before(TdF 07). What an amazing battle that was. Attacking Ras left right and centre.

    Rabo's Tour gets worse.

Dutch aren't doing well with crashes. They're the radioshack of nations.

Leopard Trek is doing a very smart, powerful ride today. They are a strong team.

So sit in a very slow peloton all day where guys like steuy and gerdemann could have easily chilled, and then chase the breakaway down once they are in the break?

I think they'd be better off doing nothing, playing poker with Europcar, till the valley just before the plateau and absolutely slamming it right into the stiff bottom 4-5km of the final climb.

    Me too. Body language suggested:

"Stupid hedge - got in the way of my shortcut!"

    Glad he's ok though.

Boardman reckons he's dented the mountain.
