if you want pedal you can use in an emergency then whichever ones that particular review is talking about might be a good idea.

there are plenty of dual purpose pedals which arent brilliant at either

the review is of the pedals I'll buy. I'll only use them not clipped in in places where I'm 50% certain I'll come off.

I got them lobbed in with the mudguards and a lock when I bought mine used from somebody else, barely used. The gears and forks hadn't even bedded in yet. It was £130 less than the new price too
  • Nice. Bike marra. Let me know if you want a buyer for them wheels.
  • I'll just warn you that there is a crack in the rear rim, where it joins together when made. If you actually know what you're buying(ie, good pics), then I'd be happy to sell. But that will be a long time, october at least.
  • Thanks mate. I'm broke anyway at the mo.
  • what the tyres like?

I love them, the compound seems just right, nice and grippy but they don't wear too fast aor drag too much. Nice braking and accelerating/climbing grip but loads and laods of cornering grip thanks to the mahoosive sideknobs. I'd buy them again. They're a good 4 seasons tyre. I'd run them all year round.

Is there anything you don't like with your bike?
    Trek 930 singletrack 06-08
    Pinnacle Peak 2.0 08-10
    Carrera Vengeance Ultimate 11-

the wheels, definitely the wheels. Also a bit of weight dropping, but that needs money i don't have as I'm spending it on tools for maintenance and expendable items like brake pads.
  • I've taken off the bar ends because i've broken them in a crash, doh! But the free MBUK chainstray protector fits when my Lizardskins didn't so that's good.

  • I chopped my Lizardskin down to fit mine, but I'll get the new MBUK if there's a free one in it.

Incidentally, I like your modifications. The blue looks good on it.
    One Q:
Did you fit the shifters/brake levers that way around? Mine are the other way. Just wondering if there are benefits to the way you have them.

Oh and what size is the QR clamp for the seat? I also want to ditch the allen key one, pain in the botty

  • fearnsy- yes it should be out in the shops, or it might not be till monday but subscription customers should have got it.

kaytronika- I fitted the brake and shifter combination like that to allow for better one finger braking. The more leverage you have the more powerful you have easily on tap. If you really need two fingers (I haven't) then you can. Oh, and from the shop (previous owner in my case) they were set up as you have them but the way I have them now is a big improvement. You index finger should sit in the crook of the brake lever.

The seat clamp size is 34.9mm.

    This is a good guide

  • Thanks for the tips, when I get some new grips I'll switch them round and give it a try!

superstar lock ons are the way forward, custom colour options and they're nice grips. I won't be going back to slide on grips, that for sure.

I found superstar (supagripa) grips wore ridiculously quickly compared to my strange lock-ons. But they're cheaper and the colour is much nicer so I suppose it makes up for it.

I've also noticed that they seem to wear fast but with the amount I ride, I'm not surprised. I do well over 100 miles a week btw. The replacement cartridges are only £5 though.
  • Nice bike. Where did you get the bottle bracket and mud guards?

the condition is going to be very bad if you get it for less than that, its a £600 bike. I was happy getting mine in perfect condition for £370. I saved £230 and I got mudguards, a bottle cage, a light set and a cable lock lobbed in.

Would you like a 2010 Ferrari F430 for 50k as well to go with that?

lisen u bum, this is not only fools n horses lol
anyway, thats a nic ebike you have there, whats the cost?
if its between £150-300 then maybe ill consider. and why is the fury going for more than £300 when its not worth it! id rather buy a boardman sport which has better stuff on for £150 more, i just like white color u see.
anyway, if anyone can get me one then please let me know. theres a tramp on eBay selling it for 600 cos he put a pair of lights on n thought hes got a ferrari or sumthin so he decided to try his luck, ben167 is his name, retard!

    let me know man please!
  • Since when was a boardman sport better than a Fury? You don't know what you're talking about. Please reconsider your grammar too.

avid elixir 5, sram x9, top quality frame, 2.1 tyres, renthal bar.. the fury is just a brand. i bought one for £220 on eBay for my brother but now i cant seem to get a hold of one for myself at 20inch frame, theres one currently on eBay at £225 18inch frame used with no pedals, go check it out. boardmans are nice bikes but i like carreras too.

    # Approximate Weight (KG): 12.7
    # Front Mech: Sram X5
    # Gear Shifters: SRAM X5 9 speed
    Handle Bars: Ritchey OS 31.8mm
    # Rear Mech: SRAM X5

    and it's by Chris Boardman.

It's black, the carrera is white.
2 rare colours and good bikes.
slightly lower in price but looking at its upgraddes from the fury, you can't go wrong.
however,if you can get me a fury cheaper than £350 let me know.

since when was a crappy dart fork an upgrade? It's one of the biggest downgrades possible.

And how is that X9, Avid Elixir 5s and renthal bars? What planet are you on?
