Can't ride because of the snow, Spurs called off because of the snow & its 1 all in the cricket. What a crap weekend.0

On the positive side, you really don't need to worry about whether to watch MotD 2 or the Ashes highlights. You can simply get drunk instead.0 -

Offey is probably shut because of the snow0 -
Well my prediction of England winning the series by a test is still on but I have to say the batting frailties of old resurfacing like that is a real concern. Looks like Finn will need replacing for the next test as he is far too loose at the moment. Remarkable result considering we had them at 69-5.0

I prefer to call it patriotism!
So are we not allowed to celebrate a test win down under? Yet again this is turning into a cracking series.0 -

In wouldn't start celebrating just yet.........we only had three guys fire......Hussey, Johnson and Harris. I think we were just lucky they all fired in the same test. Everyone else is playing crap with the exception of Haddin and glimpses of what Watson can do. And if one (or more) of the guys doesn't fire we get results like Adelaide
As for England what happened to Swann in the second innings of england in the field? He barely bowled. Also Finn is a worry with his calf(?) problem from the first day and for some reason Anderson didn't really swing the ball this test but Mitchell Johnson did. Figure that one out?Do you have any Therapeutic Use Exemptions?
No. Never have.
Never? What about the cortisone?
Well, obviously there was the cortisone0 -

Yep, seems strange hoping that Ponting is going to be fit for the next test! To three who performed above I think you can add Watson, who's averaging well opening and more than useful back up bowler. England were plain awful though, Aussies got at least 60 too many runs from 69-5. Collingwood hasn't contributed yet with the bat, and you can't play a player just for his fielding, one more chance and I think he might be replaced by a bowler - he usually performs well when it gets to that stage.
Should be a hell of atmposphere for the MCG Test, 90+ thousand on boxing day. It's important England hit back, they have the ability to do so but need to lift things 100% from the WACA.0 -
Festive thread revival...
Who's up for a sing-song? - Australia are currently 98 for 9 (EDIT: 98 all out) before tea on the first day. Please feel free to add 11 and 12 - I may have drunk too much brandy to finish this one off right now...
On the first day at Melbourne my true love sent to me...
10 runs for Ponting
9 wickets falling
8 runs for Hussey
7 for 77
6 for 77
5 caught behinds
4 wickets for Anderson
3 scalps for Tremlett
2 batting sessions
And they still haven't scored a ton!0 -

Well.... that was short lived. Haha.0 -
Classic toss to win, though, wasn't it? Bowl Australia out under clouds with a swinging ball in English conditions, bat in sunshine...0

Aggers :- "the most one sided day of test cricket I have ever seen, and that includes bangladesh"0

I just woke up at 1pm, got out of bed and fell over, and realised that what I watched last night really did happen! Never has a hangover felt so good...0
-
I should have stayed up and watched at my Dad's last night, instead I went to bed. I did watch the highlights of the Aussie downfall at 10am on SS2 this morning over a mince pie or 3.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
-
I watched the highlights and reckon i went to bed about 2 balls before Ponting went....
watching highlights again now :P0 -
Saw their innings, all of it. Then went to bed. Didn't want to see us collapse on that obviously unplayable pitch.0

Classic :P :P :P0 -
It looked like a minefield yesterday a good long hot day in the field will toast them nicely. Keep the fair weather Ausbo fans out of the ground. 8)0

Let's be fair, the fair weather fans don't count. English cricket lovers have suffered for decades without quite abandoning the game. We've learned to become all-weather fans. It's now the Aussies' turn to go through that hellish learning period. They'll be back though...
Cook's gone....and still nobody's been bowled!0 -

They count if there are 90,000 of them in one ground. Well, minus a lot of England fans. Kept our heads after both openers fell, no need for anything daft, plenty of time. Need to get settled back in after lunch ready to see off the new ball.0 -
Prior gone ..... then the umpire changes his mind heh heh heh heh !
Oh and now ponting wants to argue with the ump.. very ugly0 -
Tee hee, Ponting's about to get his match fees confiscated for disputing the umpire's decision...in what could well be the penultimate game of his captaincy.
30,000-odd disappeared after tea-time yesterday - they don't count for me. The cricket lovers and the future of Australian cricket are still there watching. Though they're not necessarily playing....
350's about par for this pitch. Anything else is a bonus.0 -

So that's a bonus then!0
