Just got the news that my work is closed tomorrow so I'll be able to listen to my first bit of this year's Ashes. Snow is cool!

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

  • I`ll give our boys a cheer when I cycle past the Waca in a couple of weeks time :D

  • Just remember what happened at Adelaide last time? Hope that happens again, although would rather a straight forward stuffing!!! Lets hope for a good match whatever, always enjoy seeing good cricket.

  • Lovely ground the Adelaide Oval. Punter wins the toss and the Ausbos will have a bat.

Ah, I was wondering what time the toss took place. So, a reasonable to average England performance and it's a draw. They'll have to fail monstrously to lose this one. Always possible, of course. But a draw = 70%, Australia victory = 10%, England victory = 20%.

That's my probabilities, others will probably have others...
  • Saw the draw at evens and both teams at 5/2 a couple of hours ago. That was before Katich peed his wicket away. Good start.
  • Nice.
  • Jaysus, even nicer!
  • Punter has gone too.0/2 8)
  • Incredible, been waiting years for a moment like this!!!
  • Did I just predict a draw?
  • So have the Aussies concocted a bowling pitch, knowing that their bowling attack is weak?
  • Don't think so, first wicket a run out due to poor decision and two nicks to slip which were down to some very good bowling. Plenty of time to go yet though.

Sure, we've just had a hat-trick and the team at the receiving end ended up marginally ahead. Cricket and counting chickens don't go well together.
  • at the end there Ponting was definitely ruffled, we have already got under his skin - he now knows he has the second best team here. All good news for us
  • Remaining very quiet at the moment!!!

  • What an astonishing day's play! Is that really England playing at the top of their game in Australia?

At the end of it all the game is in exactly the same position as the first test at the end of day 1 so as I said then, you can't tell anything until both sides have batted (and even then you never know!). Looked like some very good bowling though.
  • Hmmn, similiar start to yesterday...early wicket. :(
  • I missed the first 10 minutes of play yesterday and the first 5 minutes tonight. That's 4 wickets that have escaped me.
  • Shocking leave, can't believe he shouldered arms to that ball. Whatever happens for the rest of the day he will rue that.
  • and fortunately the rest of the day was glorious with Ponting at the end of it not knowing what to do or who to turn to .... England rock solid in control of this series at the moment

The aborigines had a better go at getting rid of Cook back in 1770.

    genius !!

ingredients for the rest of this test:-
bake Australians in hot sun for a full day
    develop a lead of 300
apply much spin on drying pitch
Swan goes well this this recipe
  • The only positive I can see for us is that Strauss is having a mare opening the batting. Out for very very little in both tets so far. I know that will be playing on his mind, but other than that, I have to concede - upper hand England at close of play today.

Apart from his ton at the Gabba? Bat nearly all day tomorrow, another 300 on, another double for Cook, stick them in with a few overs left and have a pop at their vulnerable top order again. No genuine opening batsman, Punter under pressure, Clarke out of sorts and a long tail too.

If it wasn't against the Ausbos, Cook beating so many of Wally Hammond's records could be considered quite rude
  • Yeah, he got a ton at the Gabba, second innings, but has twice gotten out within 'balls' being bowled, not overs.
