Lee Quarry looks like a lot of fun, it's definitely on my "must visit" schedule.0

Taken from the top of Bluebell Hill near Maidstone at 6.40 in the morning, after I've climbed up out of the mist.
I decended back into the gloom shortly after down some pretty steep, slippery single track.0 -
This is the bike the late great Jason Mcroy rode in the world cup, just being near it gave me goose bumps... i didn't resize so you can see more.0

doug@basqueMTB.com wrote:Just returned to the Basque Country after Christmas and knocked out a big route I've been mapping out. 1500m uppy/downy and 40km. Was a toughy. Climbed to a monastary on the summit, at 1200m and descended back to just about 0m. It was all new to me. There was a spectacular cloud inversion but I only managed to get to the top as it was lifting! Here's a few of the pictures, there's more on my flickr page.

Erm...where is the trail gone The lowest point of my ride luckily, turned round and had to find a new route.

There is always light at the end of a very tight and low down tunnel.
Hehe .. I ride that route regularly, went through that tunnel under the A1 today and am pleased to tell you the marsh is now all dried up and passable0 -

It's at Biggleswade, in Bedfordshire .. though there are probably similar tunnels up and down the A1 .. its a cattle creep ... low tunnels to allow livestock to cross .. and mountain bikes too0

Older ones from me first.
This picture brings back memories of the good ol days when I had no fear.
Had just ridden along the wet and rather slippy stones until I had a two wheel slide.
The black marks you see in the foreground are where my tyres slipped, resulting in the rear wheel falling over the edge and only being saved by the QR skewer digging into a craggy bit on the side of the stone.
Then two days after building up my most expensive bike to date, I tested the bearings.
And finally, the feeling sat at the top of this hill around FTD at Cannock was immense. It was a warm summers evening and I had just finished rebuilding my Zaskar after 10 years or more in the garage. Awesome ride.

A couple of pictures from this week. Ed Oxley is out here to check out some trails for a skills week we're running later in the year so I've had a good subject for snapping pictures.

Well, I haven't put anything here in a while, so here's a full panorama from the top of Moelwyn Bach on friday. We cycled up from Tanygrisiau, up to and over Stwlan dam, then hiked and biked up from there, before descending to Llanfrothen.
Pic is HOOOJ, so I'm just sticking a link up...

That looks such a sweet place to ride. Next time I go home (eire) I´ll take the bike and go over for a weekend on the ferry (known loacally as the poor mans QE2 booze cruz)0 -
ppst... There's some DH tracks being constructed not too far from there as well, with proper uplifts and everything
(don't tell anyone yet!)0
