Fantastic ride in the snow today - weather crisp with light snow fall, beautiful surroundings, but bloody hard work cycling - feels like riding through sand!

Nice shot. Looks like there's a fill flash in the snow to the right?0

Yep, and one behind to the left for a bit of rim light (ooh err misses) :?0

this is a memory..... our ride finishing last year after 430 miles across the country twice in 9 days.
at the time it was taken, i didnt feel like riding much, but we had done so much.so thats the reason its here!

Thought I'd give the snow-riding a go... and great fun it was. The back roads were a bit sketchy, but the snowy bridle paths were fine, and the soft snow does make a great sound, doesn't it?
Made the climb up to the top of Kingley Vale just in time to watch the sunset. Magical

This is a couple of years ago on completion of the Coast to Coast for Cancer Research UK (We raised £10k!!). Hadn't cycled since I was a kid and was extremely unfit (and overweight ) but trained like mad for the ride - This is a banner my Wife and Daughter made for me which completely choked me up.
Glad to report that I have shed about 5 stone since this picture was taken and while I have upgraded my steed to a posher carbon one, I still miss my Giant XTC hardtail as it was my first adult bike and meant a lot to me!!0 -
We started somewhere over there!!!
Oww my legs hurt!!!0 -
Just returned to the Basque Country after Christmas and knocked out a big route I've been mapping out. 1500m uppy/downy and 40km. Was a toughy. Climbed to a monastary on the summit, at 1200m and descended back to just about 0m. It was all new to me. There was a spectacular cloud inversion but I only managed to get to the top as it was lifting! Here's a few of the pictures, there's more on my flickr page.

Cheers yhmcg! It's a pretty place for sure, I've been eying up the peak for over a year now. It's still quite wintery here at the moment so in a couple of months it'll look better with everything that is now brown being green!0

Hopefully, having to add a short blurb will keep it on track, this time.
Happy New Year
Glad to see the thread is still running with some really good submissions, and not had the plug pulled on it as YHMG considered doing last year when he spit his dummy and gave the WWW a dose of immature behaviour by succumbing to public and personal insult - but there you go, what's life if you can't have an off day?
I hope everyone, including YHMG, has happy and puncture-free riding in 2011.
Be nice to all cyclists - you may want to borrow a pump one day :-)0 -
