Cheers mate, but we've got something similar run through work, and I get 4% with them

Changed my mind on the FS frame now. Was going to buy sheeps Enduro frame and forks, but decided It'd leave me "overbiked", and we can't have that now can we

I'm going to finish this off with the forks, and maybe some other shiny things over the coming months, and then maybe look at a short travel FS XC bike, like one of those Boardman FS things when the new Halfords store opens here early next year.

for the first time ever i agree with sheeps when he said you don't need a full suss in england (and IOM) unless your riding proper dh courses. but then it's sheeps, you can't trust him on what he's saying as he just got a full suss

i was being cheeky as ben always said there was no need for fs unless doing dh, and now he is buying one.

i will be just as cheeky when you buy your first fs bike too.

everyone gets one in the end.

  • Right, these are some pretty poor pics, but I need to get some new batteries for my camera so these were just done on a phone.

Addition of some super-duper Float 150RLCs from the wonderful people at Sigma Sport :D

I'm going to get some new batteries tomorrow, and then hopefully get some better pics up tomorrow evening :D

Kashima coat does not look nearly as dark in real life as it does in pics. I spent about 5 mins wondering if they'd sent me the wrong ones or something

at last , she has forks worthy of her pimpy good looks. id say the bike is finished now apart from the rotors that are lacking in colour

  • Looking good the Cat - awesome!!!!! Loving those forks!!! 8)

That ferrule issue would bug me on the Jopiln remote... Id have to go back to the black one so it sits in the aperture of the seatpost head......

Really nice now, not sure if coloured rotors would add value :)

    looking really nice now
are they standard graphics or your own custom ones
  • Shame they don't do the 180mm one in Orange

TBC, the ferrule thing is not really something I give much thought to. It's certainly much less glaring than 1 black cable in amongst a load of white ones. Now THAT would drive me mad.

I agree she's pretty much finished now though.

Next up is a completely standard, non-pimped 120mm FS XC bike :D
  • coxy17 - They're standard graphics on the 2011 models. Got to say, the colour match to the frame is superb

dont get the coloured rotors whatever you do, itll turn from a good looking bike into a 1980s house with mock tudor fronting.

those coloured rotors look like they are designed for people who cant have floating rotors. ie dogshit.

all just my opinion of course.

CWNT - The new forks make it look even more amazing, I love the 2011 Fox range, and they match your bike really well. I've enjoyed your build threads, as there seems to be something shiny that I want on most pages..

Sheeps - I was consiering some of those, but only as the Hope floaters are apparently slightly wider than the Avid rotors, and have heard they can also catch on the caliper. Trouble is, I like my Avids (juicy carbons), but want red rotors.. still waiting on the Superstar ones, but they need to pull their fingers out and hurry up. Suggestions other than going back to the 80's and patience?

(Not trying to hijack the thread btw!!)

    Riiiiight!

I've got some new pics tonight with a better camera. Will maybe get a couple of daylight shots at the weekend. Strange though, because the Kashima coat on these forks dosent look as dark as the coat on the others I've seen on here. :?

It's going to take a bit of getting used to the lack of weight over the front. It's 1.5lbs lighter today than it was yesterday, and even just on tarmac, you can feel the difference cornering.

  • Yeh, but:

    1. It's designed like a flower
    2. It's marketed as being almost half the weight of XTR, I can only assume they are paper thin, or have compromised strength in some way.
    3. My current sawtooth rotors are only about 6 weeks old
    4. It's designed like a flower

I want to see someone else who uses them and see if they stupid light because they are paper thin or what. I'll also wait for a sawtooth set.

CWNT - on the subject of coloured rotors, I got an email from Superstar yesterday telling me that their floating rotors will be in near the end of the year.. hopefully they'll be less flowery and such.

Just thought you may be interested (unless you already knew that... lol)

Still loving the bike, especially like the chromag stem 8)
  • looking gooooood!
