    oh noes

Ask yourself, would the 'incident' be likely to cause the same damage on another saddle no matter its make, or do you think its more likely the Ragley?

If it'd cause the same damage, then I'd get another of the same, as it really suits the build (other than the same colour, do Ragley do a White and Orange?)

If you think its the saddle, try another make and see how you go?

    Hows you healing up?
he's bought another ragley cheeky but in blue and white and with cr-mo rails IIRC
  • BREAKING NEWS!!!! - BIKETART SEND POPPING CANDY WITH ORDERS!!!!!!!!!

Keep your stinkin Haribo, popping candy is where it's at!

As an added bonus, they seem to have sent me the Ti rail version instead of the Cro-mo version at no extra cost.

DMC, I suspect at least as much damage would have occured with any other saddle, in fact, were it not Ti rails, it may even have snapped. Feeling much better now though ta for asking :D

lol, I'm too poor for suspension.

Got some flats on the way though :P

    what ones?
  • Superstar Nano Tech, in electric blue.

Was going to go with orange, but took a chance.
  • Cool, glad you are feeling better :D

I wasn't sure if I'd like the white/blue saddle but that looks really sweet, lifts the bike, fits in perfectly 8)

and yeah, what pedals you getting?

Good choice, got 2 sets now and I think they are ace.

And for the monies I don't think they can beat.

I know, I was thinking about getting them, but your recommendation sealed the deal

I really like it (hence buying another one after breaking the old one). I find the spoon and the cheeky both equally comfy. Obviously, saddles are a very personal preference, but luckily, they're nice and cheap, and you can get most of your money back selling it on if you dont like it.

i think so, evans still have the grey ones instock. not sure if they are carrying them on for 2011. thats what i was thinking, grey and that bit of red, just perfect
  • Have you thought about an SDG jay12?

I think they are the comfiest (and one of the most robust)perches out there, have had a few over the years.... but saddles are personal, and I only found out I liked them by chance rather than buying one....

yes but ideally i don't want to spend too much
  • Pedals arrived today:

Not sure about them yet. They're good pedals, but I think the blue may be a little light. Problem is, I KNOW the dark blue would be too dark.

I've got white nano's and love them, good pedal choice. I can't help but think the white ones would've suited yours better too. The blue look ok though!
  • Hmmm, I'm thinking I might send these pedals back and get the white ones with blue pins instead.

Just sending an email to Superstar to ask if they mind.

    Edit: WTF was I thinking??!!!

Orange Pedals with Blue pins, it's the way forward!
  • I was loving this before the pedals arrived... but at least I now know what colour not to buy :)
  • Well, new pedals (part 2) arrived today. White through pin Nanos, with some nice blue pins (which took ages to fit). I'm very glad I went for the white and blue over any other colour combo.

Oh, and big up to Superstar who handled the return of the blue nanos with no fuss at all.

Got some pics in the poor light in the garage.

Also got some Ashima SOS pads to replace the SuperStar sintered ones I'musing at the moment. The superstar ones are plenty powerful, and require minimal bedding in, but my GOD they're noisy! Every time they even get a little bit hot they just scream.

Hopefully, these ones will be a little quieter. I like the idea of different compounds in 1 pad, best of both worlds. Mind you, they're not cheap!

Next upgrade now will be a new set of forks in the next week or 2. Either some 2011 Talas 150 (with kashima coating), or some Revs of some kind. I really want the Foxs, but service policies and intervals are putting me off. Watch this space. :P
  • The RaceFace BB that came with the cranks didn't last very long. They've got a bit of a reputation for being a bit poo. The Deore one was a cheap and functional replacement that I can just replace as it wears out for not much money.

1st impressions of the Nanos are good. I've yet to actually ride them, but the bearings feel good, they're a good weight, feel well made, and look nice.
  • Daylight pics:

The Mmmbop *might* not exist in it's current form for too much longer now. There is a distinct possibility of a new, more bouncy frame on the horizon.

Need to have a good think about it.

I'd not like to guess to be honest. Bearing in mind it started life at the beginning of the year as a brown 456, and has steadily evolved over the last 6 months or so into what you see now.

It's cost significantly more than buying "off-the-shelf", but it's also been infinately more fun

As it happens, that's the next addition :D I was trying to decide between fixed or talas, but after going out today with the Pikes at max and not adjusting them (apart from lock-out) I've decided that I can manage perfectly well with fixed travel. Going for the 150mm Float RLCs with 15mm axle. Should help to lose a good 1.5lbs bringing total weight down to around 26-27lbs.

Just shopping round for a good deal. Stragely, for the first time in......ever, Evans are looking like the best deal
