Technically he could keep it through the Jura, we all saw how he climbed in Paris Nice 20090

Hes got good results in Paris-Roubaix so he should do ok on the cobbles tomorrow. After that its three flat stages. Then Saturday sees a long climb - he's not the worst climber ever - he finished 20th last year - so as long as he has some time in hand he should keep it. Sunday sees the stage to Morzine, that might be more of a struggle, depends how much time he has in hand.
Bit odd thinking that the last time he was around here he crashed and fractured his skull, this time he benefits from a big crash.0 -
Hey, just wanted to point this out to everyone: you can follow the HTC riders on an actual map in realtime. Put it on "sattelite" and you'll see them ride through actual towns:

He could have it past the rest day. He could hold it up to the Rousse and even losing time on Avioriaz is allowed.
He crashed on these roads in LBL, cracking open his head. A turn of fortune that his win today sees him in fine form and others falling behind.0 -
Good to see Chavanel win there. Looked so happy!0

Well done Sylvia.

Did all the slowing down allow Cav back on?0

WTF is Cancellara talking about now?0

What do you think was the conversation Fabian just had with ASO there? He looked pretty happy, they might have decided to give everyone the same time!0

Chavanel stage win. Great ride.Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.

Really pleased for Chavanel.
Now to see what caused the crash. I didn't see a big one but most of the GC riders seemed to crash. All I saw was a Lampre rider down, his bike in the middle of the road then a crash with more riders after that near his bike.Contador is the Greatest0 -

WTF, the AG2R rider just took advantage at the last minute to grab 2nd place. Yeah, real impressive. :roll:0

Why would it be about the timing? They might cancel the points, but timing? doesn't make sense0

I think Cav is still on the road!0

He's still out there according to the google map tracker thingy..."Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult"0 -
FFS the authorities need to make a stand here and stop these silly protests. We all know that bike racing is dangerous and that crashes happen, before long they will be riding around in padded suits and observing speed limits!!!!!"I have a lovely photo of a Camargue horse but will not post it now" (Frenchfighter - July 2013)0

Could this give Chavanel the platform for a Top10 final GC position? Time will tell obviously but his previous results aren't bad.0
