Question: when was the last time a Frenchman wore yellow?

Now what would the reaction be if a certain American had crashed, and the peloton soft pedalled to let him back on?

So is that going to happen on the cobbles then? Big riders get distanced and so everyone sits up. I hope not.

Go Mimo. This one is yours.

I have to say that while it's not immediate competing, I really like the idea not to take advantage of crash misfortune. It'll make for a much more exciting 3 weeks and it's good sportsmanship.

It's slightly different if you are distanced through a crash than your inability to hold wheels on the cobbles. Likewise, if you crash, even if they are not pressing on ahead, it's going ot be much more difficult to ride back on with a number of cobbled sections.

Can I point out that this unwritten rule about sitting up if someone crashes has been made up fairly recently, plenty of examples from the past where people didn't do this.

Spartacus doesn't get to ride over the cobbles in yellow.

    Armstrong's shorts are wrecked.
Effectively, the peloton have neutralised the stage.

It's an agreement, Cancellara had words and people listened. Sometimes it doesn't work.

If Cav had hit the deck you'd have heard fifty front mechs shifting the chain into the big ring...

So Fabian's yellow is gone. How many days do you think Chavanel can hold it?

completely messing up my PTP pick this neutralisation - but good for the rest of the Tour. It took amazingly long for Andy S. to get help though...
