The last section on the Verderers (Blue run) is ace eh, got a bit bored of the rest of it as we have ridden it so much, but the final descent is always fun.....its already getting ripped up though, theres two berms with large potholes in em already on the very last part and its kicking up large stones and rocks and such in fast parts. Makes it more interesting i guess, but its already in need of a bit of repair work!

Oh, and glad to hear your alright after your crash....one of my mates had a nasty crash on the big table top at the end of the ski run last wednesday, it was a night in hospital jobby...even just seeing a crash like that has slowed me down a bit!

Here is the New Blue Section. love the last bits but i heared they are regrading the last bit to a RED and using it an alternative, but at the moment there is no blue grade to get you back to the carpark.

yeah they witheld payment on the last section claiming it was red not blue, so they have to build a new blue end section alternative now, wish people (donkeys)would not brake around the berms, its destrying them already

I'm about Saturday and Sunday. That redbull thing is in the Bay on saturday, so was hoping to get a look at it, but no tickets going. That Machen route looks like a pretty good ride - what side of the mountain is it, the Risca side or the Machen side?

Been fairly dry of late so Castell Coch probably in decent nick and no worries about it getting dark, so people can have a bit of a play on the downhill.

Either way, I'm easy like the proverbial Sunday Morning,.

Those are on the Machen side. A well kept local secret before youtube.........?There are loads more up there and a couple of fire tracks to get back to the top. There are a few of the paths shown on OS maps but its easier just to find the old trail up keeping the quarry to your right and heading up towards the mast.
It's not really advisable to leave a car up on the common land as various pieces will be missing when you get back.

Have a look at cognation on Facebook as they've along some pictures up.

They stuck a new way down to the valley bottom to cross the river instead of that path and I think there's new ways up and down the other side of the valley instead of that fireroad drag up

hi guys
I'M BACK been off the bike since june because of medical reasons, diagnosed with epilepsy , so now on medication been given the ok to ride bike .
so entered the fod enduro (1 lap ) been checking out the site periodically great to see more guys joining and enjoying the vids Daz. gonna give cwmcarn a go sunday very slowly if i can get the wife up as i've had to surrender my driving license
