    Great for Petrov.

Petrov won both the U23 road race and the U23 time trial at the 2000 world championships. He was going to be the next big thing and Mapei immediately signed him. He never lived up to the expectations.

His last victory before today was exactly 7 years ago.

That just the order of where they finished on the stage. Not the new overall.

OK, who here thought Sastre was out of the race before today? And who knew he'd be MINUTES ahead of the maglia rosa by the end of today?

LOL, RAI loves shots of Vinokourov's tongue for some reason. They've been showing it all day and just did a slow-motion closeup of him sticking it out.

The weakest top ten for a GT I can remember.

That stage was pretty nuts - these guys are beasts. They must be sick of the bloody rain.

First Oz winner of a GT might not be Cadel

Ok, Porte is probably too young but he can climb a bit.

I suggest a gander at the 1998 final Top ten of the Tour, outside of Ullrich and Pantani, little to recommend it.

WHAT are you talking about? We haven't even hit the tough mountains yet. EVERY grand tour has a "weak" top ten before the mountains.

What? You remember every GC from every day of every GT for the last, what 10 years?

Let's wait til the end, eh?

Arroyo looks nailed on to win now. Sastre still a bit too far back, I reckon...

Yes, I'm also glad Vino's no longer in the lead. Imagine how pleased Zomegnan must be. :)

Uh, Oh. Evans is hurting now: BMC had two riders abandon during the stage — Jeff Louder and Mauro Santambrogio.

Yep, good thing there's no TTT tomorrow. Down to 5, and they haven't EVEN hit the mountains yet!

Vino lost another today. Astana = 7

    Liquigas still have 9
