    Had some helitape from Bike Tart today (with complementary Haribo) can't report on the quality just yet, but it smells fantastic !

  • A bottle of Muc-off and a brush so i can actually clean my rear cassette, I didn't get very far with a toothbrush. Will also soon be ordering some new brake pads thanks to supersonic.

    I am also contemplating buying a new chain, a maintenance book, some inner tubes - can never have too many and some new pedals.

    I added up the total spent this week on my bike and wished I hadn't.

    £720... on ONE bike... :oops: :cry: I'm slightly ashamed. But also excited!!

    Wheel not yet delivered but:

    XT chainset - £130
    SRAM 990 cassette - £50
    SRAM 991 chain - £22
    2 x Elixir CR brakes - £220
    A few bits and bobs (XTR cable, etc) - £12
    New rear wheel (Hope Pro 2/Mavic xc717) - £170
    Labour - will be £120 in total (bike was completely rebuilt from a bare frame, wheels trued, parts fitted, etc).

    In fact, that's £724...
  • My new orange bits have arrived for the 456. Going to fit them when I get home.

  • Nothing much, all the expensive stuff came a few weeks back, just some bottle cage bolts, a couple of dust caps and a headset bolt, all in orange 8)

    Well the brake discs i orderd on tuesday from a LBS at work for next day delivery still havent turned up! well there not getting my business again. first inpressions not good :cry:

    when you look at it individually you think fair enough, but add it up like that and :shock:
    if my wife had found out that i had spent that much she would be going garrity!
    and the obvious statements like "what was wrong with your old brakes" "you already have a Chain/Wheel/Etc"

    VW - she does sort of understand and doing well in that tri seemed to give me a license to spend more on kit but I do admit to using a few methods (Paypal, debit card then direct payment) to sort of "spread" the impact a little... :wink:

    If I just mentioned the full price I'd definitely be in la maison chien.
