    CARBON!!

    all-mountain-29er-carbon-mtb-wheels-clincher-tubeless-wheel-ready_zps70f882c6.jpg

But these versions - 33mm wide externally and 26mm internal:

    New-26er-33mm-wide-enduro-MTB-all-mountain-downhill-carbon-rim-tubeless-compatible_zpsea1921db.jpg

Built up by Light Bicycle in China with Hope Pro II EVO hubs, black bladed spokes and black nipples.

Total wheelset weight should be 1575 +/- 25g, delivered cost (excluding any taxes I might get stung for) £579.

That should save a minimum of 550g (and could be up to 600g if the tolerance is on my side) compared to the Superstar AM-490s that are currently on the Reign - even I should notice that difference :D

That actually seems pretty good value for a carbon wheelset! My mate paid £800 alone for rims recently.

You'll have to report back once you've received and tested them ;)

Lame in comparison, but I got a Lezyne Alloy Drive pump in the post today. It's a really nice bit of kit, so well made, but the red anodising is the pinkest I've ever seen! Good job it's stays in my bag. My ti topcap should be here today too, and the IXS lid if I'm lucky.

Will be looking forward to see how you get on with those, another option when it comes to wheels, the more I think about the Crossmax Enduro's the more I think that going for them because they're yellow when actually they're a) a good 150-200g heavier than I'd like b) narrower than I'd like and c) I don't fancy proprietary spokes and rims, could be expensive if they break, means I'm looking at custom builds again and the LB rims are definitely something I'll look into. Did see some Industry Nine torch hubs with Arch Ex's on Justridingalong last night though, too many choices!

Are you buying the complete wheels, same as me, or just the rims and getting them made-up over here?

The only issue is that we're now into Chinese New Year season, so they've told me that they won't be ready to ship until 10th Feb :( Not too disappointed though as the weather might've improved by then...

The Urge and Mavic lids I ordered are no good, so I've bit the bullet and ordered an A1 Drone. I've started to warm quite alot to the looks after seeing a couple whilst out yesterday.

You won't regret it! Used mine for the first time proper yesterday and forgot I was wearing it, so comfortable, loads of coverage and it didn't get too hot either. They are expensive, but definitely worth it!
Fingers crossed, the only thing I'm worried about is the temprature when it warms up outside.

You might be lucky, I think they keep the Novatec hubs in stock - they don't have the new, 40t, Pro II EVOs in stock, so there'll be a delay of a week or two getting them over there (seems mad them being made in Barnoldswick, then flying over to China then back over to Manchester but hey, it's only jetfuel).

Didn't read the post properly, didn't realise they were 29ers

According to their webby, they come in 29 and 27.5 flavour

I'm a total Minion fanboy, so I'm biased

I think the pike is going to make Rockshox a bucket of cash!

Fox is going to feel that one have an effect.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fox come out with a pretty much brand new 34 at Sea Otter, it'll be lighter and feature a wider range of adjustment I reckon, they need because they're losing sales fast, especially aftermarket. Even a Fox fan boy like me is considering Pikes instead of the current 34!

Completely but i think price is a huge issue, the pike is available for nearly half the price of the fox equivalent too....

Yeah at rrp they're similar but actual cost difference is huge. I'm gonna try and ride a Pike soon, see if it loves up to the hype

thought it was 700 vs 900 rrp, while i can only find fox discounted for last year models.

If i get my build this year will be a pike up front thats for sure, fox just hasnt impressed me for a while now :(

Vw, are you single handedly responsible for the economic upturn or have you killed sheepsteeth, sold his watch and pen collection and are spending the proceeds whilst wearing his flesh as some kind of pelt?
