After the past 18 months on the road bike I've treated myself to a new 650b mountain bike to have some fun off road again. Should be here the end of the week, Cube stereo 160 super HPC race. Looking forward to trying 650b wheels, slacker geometry and a carbon frame. It feels like xmas as a kid again

Chain Reaction. They're 2013s and were reduced to £53.99, then they added another 10% discount on site, plus I had a £10 voucher code (thought it would've expired, but I tried it anyway, and it worked). Bargain. They're back up to £53.99 now, which is still a big discount.0 -
A Zee shifter M640. My current XT shifter is super heavy and leaves imprints on my digits now, neither me nor the LBS can work out why. Got a Zee mech so thought I might as we'll save a few quid over the XT and get the Zee.0

They arrived today and they're a well made, quality bit of kit (the waterproof lining in the seat and crotch is a nice touch) - I suppose they damn well should be with a £99 RRP though, lol. The one thing I have doubts about are the waist adjusters (velcro stuck to rubber mouldings) - I've often seen those type fail on Alpinestars clothing, with the velcro coming unstuck from the rubber.0 -

Agree with you there, albeit not on motorbike kit. They look like great value kowalski well spotted.0 -

Get a bluetooth scanner and use your phone.. the "torque" app is supposed to be good.
Cant you reset the service light some other way? I press a sequence of buttons on my 206 and it goes back to 10,000 miles!0 -
This was a USB plug thing I got, not sure if I can get a bluetooth one but I'll keep an eye out! I looked to see if there was something I could do, but I can't find anything. I found some weird combinations I can do that then give me a reading of faults the car has. It came up with about 15, none of which made sense
EDIT: Just found a way on YouTube!! Will give that a go laterIt takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Do many Peugots get to 10,000 miles before they've fallen apart, and is a phone screen big enough to display all the fault codes that an average Peugot will throw up - or does it just have one code that says "It's French"?0 -

Aye, silly expensive at a hundred quid, but a good buy at forty. It's just cos they're 2013 stock - 2014 versions are identical apart from colours, but £99 (rrp £110). If the velcro separates from the rubber once out of warranty I'd just take 'em to the sewing shop up the road and get the lady there to replace the rubber tabs with conventional velcro. Those velcro backed rubber fasteners were probably the most common warranty fault I used to see on Aplinestars gear. They've got some great prices on Royal Racing jerseys on hain Reaction currently too.0 -
To replace the seized ones in my road frame.... asssuming I can get them out0 -

There are only about 5 specific codes that pop up on the screen in the car - there is 1 code called "antipollution fault" which covers everything from the intake to exhaust and can literally be anything at all. Thats when you need a scanner to get the specific code!
Mine has had an abs "fault" and antipolution fault for about 2 years
Brakes have been checked as part of a service before/during each MOT and no fault was found, fault cleared and MOT passed without issue!
Car is actually off for its MOT now! fingers crossed haha.0 -

Woman over the road bought a brand new RCZ coupe and she's had no end of grief with it. It's been back to the dealers loads of times for a mystery intermittent electrical failure which they can't find or fix - they had it for a couple of months last time. :roll:0 -

Although found a few issues at the service so cost me a few notes but all in all pretty good. Not bad for a 206 with 80k miles on the clock!
I know its a bit of a hairdresser car, but I really.like th RCZ! But typical peugeot, electrics are always shocking0 -
Spending spree
Hope hoops crest rims, xt cassette, new chain , fsa k force light cranks , change from bb30 to external ceramic bottom bracket, new cables , x9mtype 2 rear mech .......... mainly due to massive chain reaction discounts. Boardman ht pro carbon now an awful lot lighter and even more enjoyable. Easton carbon riser courtesy of second hand sales on site.0 -

So did she, until she bought one, now she's sick of the damn thing. It is a nice looking thing, and the interior's lovely, but it's just been a lemon. The thing the French always did well was small, simple hatchbacks (especially hot hatches - who could forget gems like the 205gti or Renault 5 GT turbo?). The things they don't do well are anything vaguely related to electrics or electronics and (unfortunately) modern cars are stuffed to the gunwales with needlessly complicated electronics just waiting to get all gallic on you. I'd never buy a modern french car. It's one thing if a bit of dashboard trim falls off your 205gti, quite another when your RCZ will only run on the third tuesday of every month, if the moon's in just the right phase and you've sacrificed just the right amount of chickens to the demons in the ECU...0 -
