Ah, Canc aside, Boonen's not as super as he has been past years...

Also, those few kilos he lost in the pre-season might have cost a little power on the flat.

how do you tell that? I can't see any difference. Were FC not there, Boonen would be making moves about now. He's in a good position.

How can I tell he's not super? Or that he's lost weight? He's mentioned his weight various times.

As for not being as super - he didn't close up on Flecha immediately, took him a long time and combined effort with others in the group.

That did not happen last year. He decided the course and could accelerate almost at will.

Yeah, but it was 15 metres tall, which is still rather unsettling. For a cat.

Even Mr Kelly just mentioned that Fab looks 'unbelievably' fresh at this point ...

  • This is ridiculous, I've been a firm proponant of cycling being cleaner the last 1 or. two years but I just cannot believe that somebody can be so superior 2 weekends on the bounce and still look so smooth and relaxed.

Sorry if this stance annoys anyone but I'm finding myself genuinely angry.

Pippo is really annoying...I think I am going to have to remove him from my signature. I know he has been under the weather (although he wouldn't be anywhere close if he wasn't in top form) , but he needs to take some turns.

Now Cancellara is really starting to suffer. Wouldn't be surprised if he loses a minute over the last 10k.

    Get over it.

Are you happy now that he is tiring, shaking his legs out and losing time.

That was in appauiling weather, not in a cross/headwind.

    This is an amazing 'prestaatsie'.
  • Woop John Anthony is getting me extra PTP points over the Boonen pickers. My tactic pays off for once!

What was the margin in '94? The conditions that day were terrible.

Get over what? I'm sure there are performances you don't believe, our opinions differ on those. Shaking his legs proves nothing.

As for Pippo, i'd leave him on your sig line... but only for that Uber-cool jersey.

he's pulled out such a huge gap in the space of 10 miles back there and then now they are near the finish and mechanicals can't affect his win so the DS has said slow back down. I find the dropping time gap a little insulting...ride on Fab

On a complete aside, does anyone else think the Sporza commentator sounds a bit like Kermit the frog?
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

+1 whats so unbelievable a TT that can ride Classics on super form has got a gap ( becasue some of the contenders were napping ) and holding it hardly that beyond belief. Whats funny is that you always hear complaints that no one attacks 50 out anymore and then when they do it there dopers cant please everyone i suppose Congrats Chinny a Amazing ride
