Hello and welcome to Pro Tour Pundit 2010 - the 5th annual edition of everyone's favourite pro cycling prediction game.

How To Play

Playing along with PTP is extremely simple - you don't have to sign up or join anything other than the Bikeradar forums. If you're already a member here, that means you're already eligible to play.

The rules of the game are simple too. A few days before each of the races listed below, a PTP thread will be started in the Pro Race forum. That thread will contain a start list of riders and some other info like the race map, relevant links, past winners and so on. Just consider who you think is likely to win and post their name in that thread. It's that simple. If the race in question is a stage-race, you also get to predict the daily stage winners.

As you play, your scores will be totted up and the overall season rankings will be updated in this thread. Take a look below for the scoring system.

2010 Calendar

  • Been hanging for this since it finished last year. Intresting that the ToC is out leaves may rather bare expect the Giro was there a reason i thought this year we might get a different winner which would have been good for PTP

Oh no. More time spent scanning Cycling Quotient, checking weather forecasts and sifting results, not to mention the nerves during a race, a few times last year it didn't matter who won a race, it was where my PTP pick finished relative to the others that mattered!

Looking at the past results - there I was in the top ten back in 2006, seen as the next big thing - and then absolutely nothing since. Essentially I'm the Cyril Dessel of PTP.

can I get on the podium... have I the emotional energy to invest in this event?

    can be draining at times

    guess so...

There's nothing worse than the gut wrenching feeling I get as I zoom across France on a TGV the way to a conference.. and realise I've forgotten to post a stage pick.

Or God forbid, for GC

In light of some of the opinons on here, perhaps we should be asking what he is on ? :?

My first ever PTP pick was Cancellara to win in Roubaix, which he duly did. It's been a horrible downhill slope since then. I should have quit there and then.

I've also thought of an idea for PTP. Unique picks should score double points. It encourages maverick choices and not the usual Boonen/Cav/Contador safe picks. What Frenchfighter would call panche and style.

Bit late for this year, but I won't remember this tomorrow, let alone in December, so I'm putting it down here as a permenant record for future consideration.

As a PTP rookie I was chuffed beyond belief at my top twenty placing

I think I should now let my heart rule my head. If I had chosen me new fave (Big MIglinsky delivered the goods at Eroica  ) for every stage of T-A and the GC, I would have scored far more points than I did (1 miserable point  ) with my, ever so, carefully considered picks. :?

    Hmmm food for thought................

I think it was in the first one or two PTPs, but it was up against the Giro, and there was no TV coverage, so got fewer people playing. After a couple of years the "Pro Tour" part of "Pro Tour Pundit" kinda went by the wayside.
