Picked up a Helmet Hero on Friday, took it out for a quick test on a very rainy, soggy and slippery ride on Sunday, tried a few different mount points and stuff...
I was amazed at how much the wide angle lens flattens the ground and jumps out.
please note this is the first time i've used it and the first time I've edited a video and used vimeo, so it's pretty shoddy, but I had fun doing it!

Quick vid from todays ride. One of those rare days where everything just seems....right. This is one of a few different singletrack descents taken in.

I got my £12 cam this morning, once I decipher the naff translation on the instructions I'm good to go

To be honest, those £12 cams are awesome for the money. Ok, not quite hd and the quality is 'alright', but for £12 its ace.Craig Rogers0

My first attempt with the £2.89 camera attached to my helmet!
Dunno what's worse the video or the riding skills!

Video of me falling off on my ride earlier today.

Sorry about the terrible quality, it was done on a camera phone because my proper camera is broken0 -
Another one from the ride today where I'm NOT falling off.

Riding over frozen snow drifts. It was a surreal experience an it was absolutely bone dry except for these random deposits of snow all over the place. Some of them were 2-3ft deep, but it's been so cold up there lately that most of them were frozen solid enough to just ride over without even breaking the surface.
Of course, some were not quite as solid, and we did end up disappearing into a drift once of twice.
Outstanding fun though.
This is part of the Isle of Man End2End route after you come down off the top of Ballacob towards St Johns.0 -
Here's my first attempt at filming myself, and true to form I managed to crash
Filmed using the £12 ebay cam, but edited in Windows Movie Maker and that messed up the quality.

Here's my first try of the £2.89 camera, I ziptied it to my lid in the little rubbery sleeve it comes with.
Don't laugh too much at my crap riding I am but a novice lass

I like where your cam is situated!0 -
It's 'Crotch' - 'Crutch' is a different thing altogether!
I did like the way that chris managed to avoid the 3ft wide trail and run into the tree stump - no serious injuries I hope?

I was wondering why he was going for a really tight line there as well. looked like a reasonable speed crash..Hope all's ok.Santa Cruz Chameleon

Got a Veho Muvi(not the £2 one). The quality dropped so much from the unedited version
I have one hill by my house, as seen at 1:55 & 5:40.
Cant wait to use it at Llandegla in April.

Here's one I've pulled from a pile of stuff done at Kirroughtree over the weekend, not so much a riding video as one showing how badly a helmet cam can "flatten" a trail...

And while I'm at it, here's me on McMoab. Not too bad a go but I couldn't keep up the effort needed, still can't get a full breath because of my ribs and it totally wiped me out by halfway round

This one came out OK... Mainly because there's so many people in it I think.

Cat, I take it that's a bar mount? It's, uh, a wee bit seasick-making You might have tried this already but the closer you mount the camera to the steerer, the less of a dramatic swing you get while turning the bars- it rotates more instead of slewing around. Hang on, this one shows it quite nicely...

Really surprised me how much of a difference it makes. Mine fail a wee bit because of the cables thoughUncompromising extremist0 -
Yeh, its not my best vid tbh.
That was indeed a bar mount, need to get it back up on the helmet tbh but keep forgetting to do it.
As it happens, that is mounted right next to the stem, it couldnt be any closer. I dont think it helps that the tracks shown there are extremely rocky.0
