Does the price of these bars show up how much we are being ripped off by other manufacturers if these guys sell the £40 bars so cheap ? It has made me question some past purchases, and will definitely make me think in the future. Not being tight, just had a realisation. :?

I had a spendy day yesterday. Ribble got the new Vittoria Open Paves back in stock so I had to get a pair of them. Oooh, and a KMC X10L chain for the Litespeed. Thought I may as well get a KMC X10SL Ti N chain for the Cervelo too. And some silver Fizik Microtex tape to go with the Silver / Red Arione I ordered.

My little addition to the worsening health of your savings :D
  • Not got it yet, seen one in the flesh and they are sex as a barn owl

    £36, you might as well

I too succumbed, it's the last component I required for my budget Planet X Pro Carbon build.

I was also thinking silvery-grey handlebar tape to match the silver frame graphics, grey Krylions and grey Charge Spoon, but trying to judge best colour match online isn't easy. I don't want Bacofoil silver. This looks not too blingy...

    Any opinions/recommendations?

    Oh my.

    Fitted the bars tonight.

The 3Ts felt heavier in the hand so I weighed them.

    Zipp - 216g
    3T - 265g

    However...

The 3Ts are just ridiculously comfortable for me. Shockingly so. Revelatory!

All the bumps and dips fit my hands perfectly! They are exactly the right width and the right drop too.

Thanks whoever spotted these on th'ebay!! Biggest cycling bargain I ever did see...

Pics next week when they are taped up, new tyres and saddle are on

Now can I get them ordered and on the bike before the missus notices?

They'd be great for the L2P in June

I think it's more just that they are a model from a few years back, have a 26mm clamp interface, etc. They would have been a lot more expensive originally. I've got lots of stuff heavily discounted (up to 75% off) looking out for sales.

Does anyone know what the drop on these is? Reach looks pretty short. Any ideas on clip-on compatibility (some carbon bars are, some are not.)

Reach and drop are short (Just how I like 'em)

No chance with clip on aero bars, in fact they aren't suitable for any confectionery, due to the shape rather than compression issues.

My only gripe with them in fact is the lack of 'dashboard room', they flatten out very close to the centre.
  • I have fsa compact bars which came with the bianchi. Anyone any idea if I would find these bars "to big".

No, I use FSA Compact bars on my BestBike and these are very similar indeed in reach and drop.

Cool, thanks for that, I have FSA compacts on my good bike myself (also a Litespeed) and they fit me very well. Not sure if the seller will post to Ireland though, I have sent him a question.
  • Thanks for the heads up! Put the new bars on tonight along with my new stem from CRC. Saved 150g over my existing set up, shortened the stem (which needed doing) and the fit is very impressive.

One thing though - they seem like they could have the last inch cut off as they look like they sweep toofar back. Minor detail and for a £46 outlay (bars and stem) well happy :D

I just wrapped these in the out-going (and I don't mean like the sort of person who gets on your t*ts on a night out after 10 minutes of 'Look at me! I'm mad aren't I?" behaviour) Fizik bar tape. No probs, just took a bit of time to get it right where the 3 finger section indentation is and the corner to the tops...

Got mine a couple of days ago, and have fitted but not taped them. A bit on the heavy side, but they're not on a light bike. The ergonomics of these things is fantastic. I've got quite small hands and they just fit. I'm guessing NapD has much larger hands and they fit him too. How do they do that?! I'm actually considering getting a second pair...

I actually have fairly small hands (or is it just that I have a huge c*ck? I can never remember...)

Done. Took 2 mins but diidn't bother putting the plugs in or finishing off the end (waste of what little electrical tape I have left!

    Photos uploading as we speak...

    I hope you appreciate this...
