nope, tried my mates 777mm spank bars and they were a bit too wide. i'm thinking of getting some even wider than 710mm. will probably go up to 740

    coxy17
yeah it is, still needs a few more parts till i get it how i want it. then after i get a dh bike ill be getting a bigger AM hardtail frame and get this resparyaed and build it into a 4x bike 8). basically the guy at the shop and my mate told me that the dt swiss ex500 rims is made of softer metal than teh mavic. and anyway i have a en321 on teh back so they kind of match but i'll probably get the same for the back as for the front in teh future.

    mrfmilo
i'll pass. i have been offered some other white 700mm bars from a mate but whute as well so thats reason why, white bars wil look stupid

new bars and seatclamp. bars are sunline v2 711mm, 50mm rise for £15 used off a mate. teh seatclamp is pz racing mt4.3 and i also changed oil in my forks today.

next up probably seat and seatpost, then bleed brakes, shorten hose and gear cables

i have some lizard skins peaty grips. they feel very nice and should last longer than the dissapointing superstar grips :?

also atm it's running a shimano tiagra cassette and it will have a medium cage slx rear mech which i'll be getting off a mate for £15.

next up will be some new brake pads for the rear, a new seatpost and saddle. i'll be filing down the bottle cage mounts to make room for a longer seatpost.

    p3pb5731760.jpg

i'm thinking of also getting one of these p3pb5663855.jpg to run along with my blackspire stinger. this way i can have a single ring set up for fr/dh and 4x, or change it to double for AM and xc

    exaaaaaaactly.

terms like all mountain and trail describe bikes but it doesnt matter how you dice it, what you do on these bikes is ride up and down hills ie cross country.

pretty much. don't think i'll be getting anything for a while tbh. except a new front brake as i broke mine in a crash :(.

basicallly the plan is to buy frame and forks(scott voltagefr20 and rock shox totem) and a few other bits and then use as much parts from this as possible to be able to ride it and then upgrade stuff as i go along.

    what frame you getting?

    Ben - B
thanks. it does take a while but it's worth it in the end :)

im getting a meta 5 frame soon
then new forks in the new year should be good trail center bike
what have you done to your break

Jay, that 321 might be fine. That's not a crack, it's where the rim's joined, 321s are pinned rather than welded. It does look like it might have started to come apart and I won't tell you that it'll be fine to ride on without actually seeing it, but probably best not to bin it yet.

decided to buy a e13 ls1+ chainguide seeing as i hardly ever use my granny ring and the clinging sound going down dh runs and doing jumps is annoying

this is probably the last change now. i'd like a bigger fork and a shorter stem but i really need to save up now for my next build, i might get a shimano saint rear mech though
