Bike looks great, but from experience the super tacky tyres will suck your will to live on the uphills - ultra rolling Resistance! Bet it's superb when chucking it down the hill though!

    Hey Jay,
How are you finding the tyres?, because i am thinking of getting the eact same combination for my crush!
    Thanks!
hi there. they are very very grippy. i would get the maxxpro minion for the front if you do more climbing and trail/A< riding as the supertacky upfront will be too sticky

i need to buy a phone next, then i'll get the front wheel; hope hoops dt swiss ex500 on pro2. then i'm going to get forks; used lyriks or used 2010 revs. and then thats it, i can then start building a freeride bike. oh and if something breaks i'll just have to replace it or upgrade it

    How tall are you Jay?

I'm getting this slightly worrying want to buy this frame. I'ts a steal at £150 off CRC. But they only have 14" in stock. Therefore, I don't wan't to buy a frame thats too small.

well i'm like 157cm or 158cm, maybe 160cm. it seems small but the top tube is on such a slope that when i get off teh seat and stand up with my behind touching the seat my bollock are very nearly touching the frame. the top tube length is the same if not longer than my oled 18" bike. you can have a go on it if you live fairly close

    Cheers for the offer.

If i am correct you live near delamere forest? This is over four hours away since i'm in south hampshire.:lol:

I'm not sure the geometry would suit me at 14", whilst i like a bike to be chuckable i still ride fairly long distances on an average ride.

I really wish somewhere had a 16", it does look like a nice frame at a great price.

  • looks good jay,why didn't you line up the fsa logo with the front of the bike?
I assume this is French petrol - be careful in reverse - the car will retreat rapidly at the least provocation.

  • noice... had the pig pro DH on my NS and it lasted a good year of abuse. Still had loads of life left in it when I sold it on!

just a question but why do u need to buy some new brakes yours are the same apart from the adjustment a new front wheel would be more noticeable

basically my brother wants some new brakes and the white brakes would go better with his bike and the silver/grey will go better on mine. i know they are pretty much the same but i just don't reallly like the white brakes. i know it's a bit silly but still

got the blackspire chainguide and a lizard skins chainstay protector. wanted to get a black one but they didn't have them instock.
next upgrade is a front wheel. hope hoops dt swiss ex500. then (in no order) superstar ht2 roller bearing BB, qr seatclamp, grips, and maybe new forks. i would really liek something like lyrik or revelation but i also want a fr/dh bike :? if i got the forks it would take me much longer to get one. i might just make this more "ardcore" and just get the forks.

Nice bike Jay, like the upgrades, schweet.

I thought those forks were pretty good when I rode it, not quite on par with my vintage 'zocchis, but decent all the same, it'd keep them till you snap them  .

finally a new front wheel. was supposed to have one ages ago but had to buy other things.
anyway i have actually got a mavic en521 hope hoops as the guy in the shop said that they are much better rims and he has the same wheel on his bike and after a week in teh alps they have been perfect. i am so happy with it, it makes teh front end much lighter, looks better and the hub is awesome.

    p3pb5543576.jpg

    p3pb5543590.jpg

next i'll be getting a bleed kit to re bleed teh brakes and shirten teh rear hose. then some fsa gravity 710mm bars (basically the current ones are too narrow now) and apz racing seat clamp. after that i'll be getting a seatpost and saddle and filing down the inside of the bottle cage bolt holess they are stopping me putting the seatpost down all the way.

and after that maybe a stem, will be replacing the grip cartridge soon and i might get some medium cage plates.hmmm....
