Never heard that. I switched to specialized shoes a while back and love them.

I've been buying from Certini more and more recently as they seem to have stock other shops don't, prices are always competitive and they are just a really good shop to deal with. Unfortunately they don't send free haribo though.

The Certini store in Saltash is well worth a visit if you're ever in the area, the most comprehensive physical bike shop I've ever been to.

That will be bikefitjames / Francis Cade on YT.

Heard him say that about Spesh shoes before.

That's the chap or chaps - here's the vid, 11:50 onwards for the bit about Spesh shoes.
    https://youtube.com/watch?v=2ksO6iIZbhg

Not saying he is right, or it's clearly the case, and if they work for someone then they do, and clearly they must have as thousands and thousands of pairs have been sold, just thought it was interesting, and I have never used a pair of Spesh shoes myself so don't have any personal experience.

Interesting. I can only go from personal experience and can't praise the specialized shoes highly enough. I love the brand, all my bikes are specialized, but even if I rode something different I would still recommend their shoes.

I have tried so many brands but kept getting hotspots and just couldn't find a pair that I found comfortable. When I had my first bike fit (traditional style) the fitter suggested specialized bg Pro shoes and when I bought a pair I immediately felt a huge difference and since then, no hotspots!

Maybe you have the foot or arch type that suits the Specialized shoes, and maybe the fitter recognised that.

Not sure, everyone I know who also uses them loves them as well.

Guess it's like everything, personal preference.

Back to the torch 3.0, at £140 they are an absolute bargain imo

Bargain top end shoes, no personal experience, but reviews are in the main pretty reasonable, and that was at the full RRP.

    £250 - down to £110.
2 colour options, and currently most common sizes in stock.

both prime RR-50 wheels cant remember the bars but very aero flat tops, marginal gains added to which i've found my idea weight aka 70kg but almost none of my vast collection of cycle clothing now fits.

Climbing like a demon with ease so making my fleet of bikes as aero rather than light is the plan

Not bargains, but if you are after a high end pair of Lake shoes, and happen to be one of these two sizes.

    CX403 in a 43 is 'down' to £298 from £428 ( ! ), and SHOE10 knocks 10% off down to £268ish.
    https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Lake-CX403-CFC-Carbon-Road-Shoes_239063.htm

CX332 in 45 is down from £350 to £245 plus that code again taking it down to £220.50.

    Probably some TCB cashback too.

    Looks like they sold out.

The best socks I have ever worn are the Gripgrab lightweight SL ones:
    https://wiggle.co.uk/gripgrab-lightweight-sl-socks

They size up large, so for my uk size 10, normally 44 in cycling shoes, the medium size is perfect.

The Scott Cadence Plus is probably my favourite helmet ever, really nice fit for me, and nice and airy, plus it feels light on my bonce, and meshes really well with both Scott and Oakley glasses.

Two mahoosive bargains here, oh and they are both MIPS if that bothers you.

Large in Green for £50 (FIFTY!)

And Small and Medium in Black and Yellow for £59.99 - both have an RRP of £169.99.

Not arguing at £30 (and assuming you want a women’s jersey), but why would you buy Rapha to ride in your garage?

The link didn't work for me so I went direct.
It'll be a while till I need a lightweight jersey so may as well put it to some use.
Worst case scenario, it goes back.

That strikes me as an odd retailer choice for Rapha.

    True.

It's worth checking in store as well if you're near a John Lewis branch. I went into a branch last night to pick up a new phone and on the way past th esports section noticed they had a few bits from the Core range. They had a long sleeve Core jersey in green marked down from £70 to £35. It was the only thing they had marked down but a bit of a bargain.

Huub have facebook adverts running showing 50% (not upto) off all of their Archimedes range, plus 3 for 2.

The 3 for 2 works, but they are not 50% off - more like 40%.

I messaged them to ask why the prices are wrong, but nothing back yet - also their live chat appears to not be on, or not working.

    Anyone used their kit?

if it was 50% off, and at 3 for 2, it becomes approx £50 an item, jerseys/shorts etc.

Ironically, or not, SP have those very items at exactly 50% off, but of course no 3 for 2 :D

Just bagged myself a couple of bits for the commute.

Madison thermal shorts £90 down to £41 (S, L, XL)
Madison Genesis branded bibtights reduced from £130 to £45 (In XS and Small only)
However if your prepared to pay a tiny bit more and you then lose the branding, Cycle Store have them in stock in seemingly all sizes for £49.99:
    https://cyclestore.co.uk/madison_roadrace_premio_thermal_dwr_bib_tights-ID_76200

Can't see there being many bibtight bargains around for very long personally.

    EXTRA10 lops 10% off.

Never tried their kit before, but saw someone on here praising one of their jerseys, so am hoping these will do for a 37ish mile (round trip) commute in the colder months.

    https://startfitness.co.uk/madison-road-race-optimus-mens-thermal-cycling-bib-shorts-black.html

Chose not to go for these bibtights due to not as much reflective stuff, but they are available in small and medium:
    https://startfitness.co.uk/madison-sportive-shield-softshell-mens-cycling-bib-tights-black.html

Be careful when browsing, as some come without pads, which may or may not be a good thing.
