Has anyone been using it via Amazon to know if it's any better that way? I assume there are some negative knock on consequences eg not being able to Chromecast it (but can access via fire TV - although you can do that anyway with the regular sub)

I was pleasantly surprised to find there is a Kodi plugin for Eurosport player so that opens a lot of other devices for accessing it (eg raspberry pi, generic android TV boxes etc)

I do remember someone saying they had less buffering/stream deterioration on Amazon but that could be coincidence (don't recall it being a problem for me on the normal player).

All a little moot as I bought a year in November.

I've been watching since November via Eurosport Player on my laptop using a HDMI plugged in to the TV as I got a 1 year subscription from their Polish website for just under a tenner. I saw this 1p a month Amazon deal yesterday and bought it (I have Amazon Prime Video direct on the TV already) because for the sake of 6p it saves me plugging in via the laptop for the next 6 months and leaves my laptop free. The stream quality via Prime has been great with no buffering or anything and I've had it on for hours on end both yesterday and today watching the darts, but it was equally good via the player. What I'm trying to say, I've noticed no noticeable difference between the 2 in very recent back to back comparisons!

I found some on demand content doesn't appear in the Fire TV app as quickly as it does on the website. Other than that it seems okay.

    ??

27-Jan + 6 months will get you to 27-Jul, which = Stage 20 (final Saturday, prior to the Paris procession) of the TdF, so long as you signed up to the deal on the evening of the 27th Jan

    Evening all,

have just noticed that Wiggle have changed their free return policy.

It used to be RM, Collect+, Doddle and Asda, but the first three are now £2.95, and only Asda is free.

Not sure about CRC, but seems likely it will have gone the same way.

EDIT: Just checked, and unsurprisingly crc are identical.

Interesting, but maybe not entirely surprising after noting you can no longer get any free delivery from Evans (except click and collect from store). Think there was something on R4 today about many online retailers altering their previously free returns. Luckily i drive past an Asda to and from work, so not to be bad for me

That's a bit annoying. Asda toyou is incredibly slow in my experience. The staff don't have a clue what they're doing and you prepare it all in advance only for them to have to take all the details again.

The returns are still 365 days though... so I guess I'll just be more likely than ever to bundle up the returns over many months.

FWIW, I got a wiggle delivery to Spain recently and it came with Haribos, which they haven't sent me to Edinburgh in quite a while. On the other hand, free delivery is only available from about €60 or so.

...and I bought a jacket through CRC/Wiggle last week, with Collect Plus delivery to my local Esso garage and it arrived next day on their standard delivery (which was free on orders over £12). So at least their deliveries still seem ok....no Haribo in then of though

Wiggle's warranty is shit though, they went down the doldrums about 2 years ago. I wouldn't buy any expensive item through them anymore.

Not surprising at all I agree, and actually good news for me, as I fairly often take a punt on stuff, knowing I have a post office and collect + places 1 minute each away from my door.

Nearest Asda is 20 miles away, and not on the way to anywhere we go regularly.
I have one Rapha item to return (that came with haribo!), but will be in Londunium on a course later this month and will only be 2 miles from an Asda, so will likely Santander bike my way there.

There is the option to hoard stuff to return in one parcel of course, I used to do that anyway simply to try and save them multiple return charges.

Don't think i've ever had to deal with them on a warranty issue.

Worth remembering that if you pay using PayPal then they will refund return postage up to £15 up to twelve times per year.

While not as easy as wiggles' free returns, I've used the service many many times without issue.

Might stop me from making so many speculative purchases, which could actually be a good thing for me...

Does anyone know if ASDA returns can be done at an ASDA garage? We have one which is not attached to a store that would be convenient enough but I aint going all the way to an ASDA store. It has those locker thingies on it so must do some kind of delivery service? I guess I can ask next time in there.

Had an interesting warranty thing with Wiggle recently - a set of Prolite wheels which developed a crack in the rim at around 20 months and inside the 2 year warranty. Wiggle sent my details to Prolite who said that the wheel was manufactured almost 2 years previously regardless of when it was bought and a rim is a wear and tear item. I appealed to Wiggle to look again as a quoted warranty is from date of purchase and they had an obligation to that and on a disk brake bike a rim is not a wear and tear item besides a crack around the eyelets is clearly a manufacturing or design defect. Wiggle agreed and refunded me from their own pocket despite Prolite still not playing ball.

CRC chopped the British Cycling discount drastically recently too so they are really cutting back.

    I blame CRC
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

This is a pain but as others have said it will stop me speculatively buying stuff I don’t need. I’ve just returned a GS I’ve had sitting here for 4 months and I’m returning some shoes I’ve had for 9 months lol.

To be honest, if it makes/keeps things cheaper than they would otherwise be I can't see the problem.

I don't personally feel the need to order a load of stuff I don't need and send it back - obviously it's nice being able to order a couple of sizes if you aren't sure but perhaps it is worth paying a couple of quid for this perk if you can't get to an Asda.

Seconded. It took a threat to take them to the Small Claims Court before they'd agree to compensate me for the failure of one of their Lifeline products. A fixed rear cog that they sold me was not machined properly and caused the thread to strip from my hub. Even when I demonstrated with a micrometer that it was outside the ISO threading standards that it was sold as, they denied it. Got there in the end though - I was only after £30 for a new rear hub, as I was happy to rebuild the wheel myself, but I told them that if it went to court, I'd be claiming for the rebuild cost too.....

Sh1t attitude from Prolite. What's the date of manufacture got to do with anything? It's a wheel, not a cheese. Do their rims start to deteriorate as soon as they leave the factory? If you buy one that's been on a shelf for 2 years do they wash their hands of any warranty??

AP's thread on this made me sell my 'stock' pair I had waiting for use, as it happens for a nice little profit on ebay :D
