    FSA Powerbox Power Meter - £377 at PX - https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CSFSAPOWA ... -chain-set

Looks a good deal for a crank based PM with rings

That does seem to be a pretty good deal non?

Assuming it would not be compatible with BB30A BB though.
It's basically a Power2max NGEco, but with bluetooth disabled - you can enable it for an extra £50.

You then have to balance the free chainrings against the fact that down the line they'll need to be replaced with the same FSA 4 bolt pattern chainrings, which isn't particularly cheap.

If my bikes were BB30/386 evo then it'd have been more tempting (it was £400 when i was looking a month or so ago), instead I went for the NGEco with FSA Gossamer chainset and a 5 bolt 110bcd chainring pattern, I've been able to use it as a direct swap for my existing Shimano chainsets - was £450 or thereabouts.

Thanks gents - fyi Wiggle will price patch these for 365 day returns, and extra cashback.

In light of the above, I think I will pass.

I have a second set of Vector 2's available, and also the IQ2 kickstarter thing is reputed to be despatching in a couple of months - time will tell........

But but, IQ2 will Only measure up to 2600W

How are Vector 2 holding up against wear and tear?

lol, I don't think that will cause me any issues

They have been fine for me - couple of battery changes, but no issues at all for me.

That's the main reason I bagged another pair when I could for £441 - worst case I can send them back in the next 11 months for afull refund, or sell them on for no loss.

FWIW I ordered the Rapha shorts in M and L. I'm 6'3" 75kg and wear size L in La Passione classic bibs. The Rapha shorts are black/black made in Portugal. The legs are shorter than La Passione, but the bib straps are way too tight for me, even in riding position. I'm returning them and will give XL a try and maybe the leg length is a bit better. I can provide more specific measurements when I get them.

I'm 6'2", similar weight and tried my Large on Saturday. They're pretty snug on the straps i have to say! The pad felt pretty good but i'm a little concerned they're too tight.

From experience, does anyone know if the material/lycra might "relax" a little as they're worn in?

(I also got black writing on black shorts with white straps. Made in Portugal).

I ordered two sizes and the difference in sizing is not huge so if one size is just a bit too tight size up. One thing I found was pad positioning did seem to vary considerable but as I said one pair was made in Italy the other in Portugal so this may make a difference.

Received mine yesterday. XL black with black logo and made in Portugal. Tighter than my Core and Classic XL but might feel nice on the bike. Going to test tonight. 6'3" 94kg, big legs. The regular cut didn't seem too short tbh!

More of a brief observation post...

Quick look at Wiggle and CRC road bike section this morning and the number of road bikes on sale below £1k seems to be massively reduced.

Similar, but not quite as drastic at Rutland.

Simply or the EOL bargains from last season gone, or the start of a Brexit bike price hike? :?

They might be putting prices up in anticipation of TDF themed discounts coming in next week.

Or it might just be that the summer is here and people are taking up cycling/buying themselves a new bike, so old stock has finally been cleared.

Either way, summer is not the time to shop for a bargain road bike.

That's strange. I am 75kg and 6ft on the nose and ride PT bibs in medium (although long leg)

I've purchased a large to see how they fit and hope the leg is longer than the M.

85kg and 6 ft and a tiny bit, and the large are fine for me in regular leg.

They probably dont taste as nice, but 100g will give you 60g of carbs.

Sliced and generously buttered malt loaf is delicious. Stickier and harder to handle on the bike than fig rolls, but not as dry. I wouldn't attempt either while going uphill on account of needing to breathe.

The Aldi malt loaf is more fruity, less sticky/claggy, easier to cut and easier to eat on the bike. I really like it but the rest of the family wont eat it and insist on soreen.

What do folks make of the new generation London Road SL and Fully Monty SL frames at DFS (seen in this summer's Fibb sale), with the dropped seat stays for £233, due towards the end of August?

Baffled that they've apparently stuck with post mount for the brake calipers.

I mean, it's a perfectly decent standard, but shimano only want to sell you flat mount and you can't adapt a post mount frame to flat mount, only the other way round.

XL and XXL Rapha PT shorts arrived today, straps are still pretty tight tbh. Would prefer a bit more length on the legs, they are shorter than my L La Passione Classic bibs...There are more seams on the Raphas and to be honest they're not as comfortable to wear. Can't really comment on the pad as I'll probably return them.

Sending my PT ones back, great price for them but they don't fit as well as i liked. I actually prefer the Core bibs and classic bibs for all day rides.

PT bibs arrived - 5ft 9/82kg with short legs and big thighs (even for a cyclist) and crikey the large are compressive. Not too sure about the pad, although my classics are my go-to bibs for long rides.
