Any bargain turbos out there? Should be almost free at the moment with this weather!

Did those £190 Amazon Vortex Smarts posted a while ago turn up? Shame I missed that.

Rumour of a fair few number of new trainers being released/announced at Eurobike in a couple of weeks so bound to be some deals on old models on the lead up and after. So a couple of weeks of patience might pay dividends.

I saw on DCRainmaker that Tacx had dropped their prices in the US so I think you're right. Could do with getting one fairly quickly though.

Thanks for the heads up on the shorts, I bought some of the thermal pro teams for a similar price and love the pad, so have jumped in for a pair of these. The thermal ones are long in the leg, but I think this is deliberate, and anyway, I'm not a fan of the skimpy short. :)

Thanks for this one. Been considering some new bibs as some of the ones i have (relatively new) have been giving crazy chaffage on my inner thigh.

Hopefully these might ease the problem. The only bibs i'm able to do long rides in are my old 2014/15 Ride 100 DHB shorts. Any others are excruciating after 20-30 miles.

I have these Rapha pro teams and they're my favourite bib shorts, for me even more comfortable than Castelli's excellent progetto seat pad

How are the straps on those Rapha PT bibs?

I tried on some at the Kilver Court store and found their 'Kilver Court PT' to be very tight on the straps.

I've got Rapha Core and Lightweight ones though which are fine, these look like they have a bit more give.

They are meant to be tight. When you're on the bike they loosen up.

Yeh I get that they're meant to be tight and will feel better on the bike but I mimicked the position and still felt restricted.

Will give these a go anyway.

Possibly a perfect starter set for my caadx that's coming with no wheels which has 135 rear spacing. Seems like they come with skewers, any reason these won't fit?

Wheels are apparently 4.5Kg with tyres
    Front - 2160 gr
    Rear - 2360 gr

    Tyres are 700g each, that's still a 3kg wheelset
    At least they're only £70.

And your CAADX will come with a Road groupset. I'd guess this has a MTB hub so that could scupper things unless you go for a 11-34 road cassette that fits on a MTB hub but works on road gears. But you'd spend as much on the cassette as the wheelset.

That is heavy I agree - I'm thinking it might be worth getting a pair as a future replacement for those on the Kona, as it gets used in all weathers - I'm not sure what the drop out widths are though.
    minute.jpg

It's a relatively heavy bike anyway (All be it with an alloy frame), and is usually carrying luggage and or a small child, so even if the wheels are heavier, I don't see it being a massive negative, especially for the £62 or so I could get them for.

What do you reckon - worth a punt for stock, or just wait until these ones give up, if and when they do?

I just found it when reviewing them after buying some from Bicester where I paid £95 about a month ago unfortunately.

Link still works despite solboy calling them to ask if they had them at the silly price he had a link for

Did y'all get the save25 code to work too ?
    Did for me last week.

No eyes rolling please I was checking it wasn’t a scam. Perfectly reasonable and sensible imo. Do you not think it’s odd Rapha didn’t know about the offer then?

To clarify I’m not saying it’s not legit but still think it’s a bit odd.

About 1/2 six tighter in my opinion. If your classics are loose, get the same size. If they are tight, go up a size. If they are perfect, hmmm...
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

My Core and Lightweight finish about 3 inches above my knee, decent length imo, good for the tan lines 8)

I'd expect the PT to be the same with the long version 'knee' length?

Yea, I'm the same. Just bought some La Passione Classic shorts and they're a good length if you're looking for some. I figured I can always return the Raphas if they're borderline offensive.

I have a pair of the pro team version 1 both regular and long leg, both medium. The LP ones are probably marginally less comfy but i *think* longer than the long leg PT shorts. Certainly the same length at a minimum.
