Halfords Flash Sale 16th July: Extra 10% Off All Bikes, Bike Accessories, Bike Racks, Scooters & Ride On Toys
Typically a good opportunity to combine with 10%BC discount to get some spares in.

The Tacx Neo Smart Turbo Trainer has been down to £945.74 for a few days at Halfords. With the 10% off on 16 July, it’s going in the basket for £851.17.

I think this is the cheapest it’s ever been and of course British Cycling members can click and collect and try to negotiate another 10% off to bring the price down to £766.00.

Also, the Tacx Flux is currently £504.58 at Halfords, so £454.12 with the 10% off on 16 July.

TopCashBack are also doing 4.5% cashback for purchases at Halfords.

Ah, but then you have to ride it to work. The beauty of the smart turbo is that you don't have to ride it anywhere...

That's one hell of a deal - a fair few people also have the opportunity to buy prepaid gift cards (No TCB this way I think) for 90% of the face value, which would bring it down to under £700.
Yes it's a lot of cash, but it's a phenomenal training aid.
If you have bought a bike on the halfords cycle to work scheme, you get 20% off on the cards, which would bring it down to a bonkers £612 - basically half price.

Isn't that the same argument as 'I can buy a car for that' when someone posts an expensive bike on other sites.

Turbo Trainers (and Cycling Computers) are unfortunately excluded from the cycle2work discount card, so BC is the best bet.

Just checked, this applies to tyres too. So for example, a pair of Conti 4 Seasons will cost you £51.82 with "click and collect" today and then using BC discount card.

Never bought 4seasons before, but heard they are good for winter months, will ponder this deal for a few hours.

The silly heatwave we're experiencing and how quickly water goes in it makes me ponder buying https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-a ... cage-mount to mount another cage to the Cube for 3+ hour rides that don't start before ~0730.

Thought I just found another way of getting an extra bottle on rides, while finally getting around to buying a saddle bag, that will allow me to carry far less in my jersey back pockets!

https://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-a ... saddle-bag £21.87 in flash sale with BC discount

But you need ~32cm+ vertically between the top of your saddle and top of tyre/guards, I've only got ~28cm at best on the Cube as I chose the 58cm frame for the higher front end and I only have the BB-saddle height at ~73cm for my stubby legs.

So that bar/seatpost mount is still a contender, I'm getting a bit fed up of having to reduce power training even with 2l of fluid due to risk of running out of water in this heatwave, rather than beating my legs into submission!

Edit: Looking at the clothing now as well in this flash sale, stuff like the well regarded https://www.halfords.com/cycling/cyclin ... sers-black with padded liner and removeable leg lowers plus the Boardman short sleeve tops (my Lusso ones are noticeably less heat wicking efficient than my Endura FS260 team top).

Trying to decide if I would be seen dead in this modern day material replica of the old 1987 ANC Halfords team top, ~£28.80 in flash sale with BC discount https://www.halfords.com/cycling/cyclin ... ing-jersey

Like that a lot, and would go with my Langster for my current Velodrome exploits, and they have xs in stock, but have managed to stop myself. If it had a full zip (Which I appreciate is not retro), I likely would have gone for it.

I could have sworn this has changed and it used to only be 10% discount in-store in London branches of Cycle Republic only, now all stores this year.

So maybe I will order a pair of 28mm 4Seasons after all in today's final 10% flash sale day off everything on the Halfords site, had scrapped the idea because only local CR store had them and until checking the BC site I thought I wouldn't get BC discount.
