Posted previously (from CRC), but Wiggle are doing a 105 hydro disc dike with mudguard mounts for £800.

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/vitus-zenium-vr ... 0319594141

I bought one when CRC had it on offer @ £850, cracking commuter/winter bike and you'll struggle to get near it for £800.

They have the LW bib tights for £75 too, as do CRC & Evans who do British Cycling discount.

I have switched from Sorpasso to them on all but the VERY coldest days. I love the sorpasso but run warm so have to ditch them early in the year. The LW bib tights seem almost as warm when its cold but are not so hot when its warm so I can wear them much more of the year.

At £75 they are a steal, they are just fantastic.

Does the LW still have the Progetto 2?

    Yes - progetto 2.

they are effectively Sorpasso everywhere in the middle but with the calf shod in something cooler and the bib section cooler too.

Personally thats a real winner. My core gets hot wearing sorpasso alot of the time unless its really cold and I would rather any warmth there comes from my base layers so that I have more control. And my calves dont really need roubaix around them most of the time either.

Due to Daniel B's recommendation :D , I placed an order with them. They gave me a shipping date (which had a bit of a delay), but things were looking good. They have since contacted me again to say that they are out of stock and that they will not be in stock until some (not completed) time in the future and offering me a different, wheel based trainer instead.

A quick look online shows that people were complaining about this behaviour last year as well. I have emailed them to ask when they are going to deliver. Not heard back to my email of yesterday. Not very impressed so far, but if they come through, I will update...

Update - I would never shop again with Athleteshop.

So just an update. Placed an order in April, they emailed me back to say delivery in 2 days. Contacted me in 2 days to say out of stock. Asked if I wanted a tyre based trainer, said no. They (after a bit of prompting) said that they would give me a new delivery date 3 weeks later. 3 1/2 weeks later no product, no email. Emailed them. They said "sorry we don't have" would you like a tyre based trainer. I said no. They said "tough, we don't have it and can't get it, do you want a refund" I said - is that it - you're not going to make me any other form of offer, you've just sat on my money for nearly 3 months and not delivered what you said you were going to deliver and only offer me standard prices on your other tyre based trainers. They said "yep, sorry about that. Refund will be with you in 5 - 10 working days."

Not impressed, wouldn't spend my money with them again.

Ha - I have just resolved in the last week never, ever to use Athleteshop too.

I ordered some sunglasses off them 05/05/18, got an immediate email with "Expected delivery on 15/05/2018". They took my money immediately.

Then on 13/05/18 I got an email saying "Unfortunately we have experienced a delay in your order. You can expect the delivery around 17 May 2018."

At that time I decided I wanted something else too but didnt want to pay two lots of postage. So I cancelled the first order on 14/05/18 and they told me on 15/05/18 "The refund will be processed within 5-7 business days."

I placed a new order for 2 items on 14/05/18. Again they took this money immediately. and told me "Expected delivery on 17/05/2018."

Then on 15/05/18 I got an email saying "Unfortunately we have experienced a delay in your order. You can expect the delivery around 22 May 2018."

Then on 24/05/18 they hadnt arrived, I got fed up and cancelled that order too. Bought them elsewhere. I received a reply same day saying "The refund will be processed within 7-10 business days."

No money back by 31/05/18 so I emailed to chase. On 1st June they replied "Because of the public holiday in the Netherlands the refunds of last 2 weeks are a little bit delayed. We expect to have them processed in 10 working days instead of 7 and therefore should be there by the 04/06."

On 01/06/18 I got an email saying my refund had been processed.

A week later the first refund appeared in my bank but not the second. So I chased on 07/06/18 and was told it would be processed that day. I got an email saying it was processed the following day and it is now in my bank.

I got all my money back but a) they took it when they didnt even have the goods I ordered, or a firm date for them b) they kept putting the delivery date back and even then didnt hit the target c) they cancelled orders but did not process the refunds when they said and it looks like the probably never would have if I hadnt chased.

Life is too short to deal with companies like that.

Bugger, sorry to hear you had such a poor experience mroli -will certainly make me think twice now, perhaps I have just been lucky.

With regards to sites abroad, have had no issues at all with bikediscount.de or Mantel - top drawer service from them everytime. Mind you, not shopped with them for ages, as with the inverted strength of the pound, they rarely end up being cheaper, and of course returns can be more expensive - although BD do generally offer free returns amazingly.
I have been bitten with two returns, one to Bike Inn, and one to La Passione -if the goods are of a decent value, and need to be insured, you are looking at a decent bill.

La Passione now do returns for a fixed price of 5 euros. I think you print off a pre-paid returns label and they deduct the cost from your refund. Alpinetrek do the same system. Pretty sensible really.

It's packable, but would still take up a whole jersey pocket. I wear mine when I know it's going to rain, or high probably of heavy rain, so dont use it as a " just in case" shell (use a Sportful Hot Pack No Rain Stretch jacket for that, but whilst more packable its no way as breathable as the Pave)

No worries mate - I went into it with my eyes wide open and the price I was "offered" on the elite trainer was really good, but just to be fobbed off, strung along for such a long period of time is just really poor. They were not interested in customer experience as well - just said "ah well, we're bound to get stuff wrong". Bike Inn is also bad in my experience, but at least they delivered the goods - genuinely Athlete Shop are the only company that I've used that just don't seem to give a stuff about customers. Planet X get a bit of a bashing, but when they've cocked up, they've sorted it, bought through bikediscount and Mantel as well, they're great. La Passione were fine for me (wore their kit today).

There's enough online now to say that this is a course of dealing - at the very least, they can't keep stock, can't get some orders from manufacturers, will keep your money for inordinate amounts of time and don't care about you.

Ah - actually, to be fair to them, they have now offered to keep my money for longer and give me a 10% discount of the value of my order to me. Still not interested - let's see how long my money takes to get back to me.

My opinion - Athlete Shop - steer well clear.....

So my Sorpasso's arrived today, overall a pretty good fit but, and I did read this is some reviews, the straps are quite snug and don't have much give.

I guess the LW ones are the same?

I see what you mean about the thermo material too, turn them inside out and their covered in red fleece.

On the bike, the straps are better than they might at first seem. But yes, I wouldnt expect the LW to be any less tight than the normal sorpasso. That red fleece seems like magic though - the Sorpasso are warmer than they have any right to be when you consider how light/thin they are. Super bit of kit.

TredZ have the LW for £75 plus £5 order so at £70 they seem a good deal, gonna order them too and see which ones I prefer!
