Orange Carnac storage bottle here for a quid with free delivery.

Best thing available for a quid since those Madison Genesis bottles a while back!

Hee hee, ordered one to go in the same box under my bed with all of the unused Madison Genesis bottles.....
I flogged my Madison bottles on eBay for a 700% profit!!! Lol

Ordered a black Carnac storage bottle yesterday and now a red one today. One for on the bike and the other for in my suitcase with the cables for phone etc and travel/USB adapter, I've been after something like that for a while but didn't want to spend too much, think a quid is just in budget.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I'll be bankrupt before they are, I knew I shouldn't have peeked in on this thread again.

I went onto PX meaning just to buy the £1 tool bottle thing I don't need. I then thought, maybe I'll buy the overshoes I've been pondering, perhaps the postage will be waived due to the £1 thing. It's not. Then I thought I need the overshoes anyway so I knuckled down and bought:-

    Stock Code Item Qty
BOCARBC-CAR Carnac Bottle Cage Tool Bag Carbon 1
CLPXOSH-XL-BLK Planet X Neoprene Overshoes XLarge Black 1
CLOOTKMS1P-RED-LXL On-One Thicky Merino Socks Black with Red Stripes Large to X Large 1
CLOOTKMS1P-BSK-LXL On-One Thicky Merino Socks Black Skull Large - XLarge 1
BAPODLSB-BLU PODSACS Expedition Large Waterproof Saddle Bag Dark Blue 1
CLPXMERS1P-LFL-YEL-LXL-5 Planet X Thicky Merino Socks Lion of Flanders Yellow Large - XLarge 5 Inch 1
TOWE75CRO-SIN Weldtite 75th Anniversary Cycle Repair Outfit Tin Single 1
ZXHWYTCAPCASE Holdsworth Cap And Bottle Cage Tool Bag Fiver Bundle 1
CLPHOLAPISIC-ORA Holdsworth Ice Cream Cotton Cycling Cap Orange [ZXHWYTCAPCASE] 1
BOHOLEBC-ICE-ORA Holdsworth EVA Tool BottleCage Tool Bag Ice Cream Orange [ZXHWYTCAPCASE] 1

    So that's another £62.90 "bargain"!

(The bargain thread refrain) - Damn this thread and all who post in her.

One thing I'm surprised px don't have is cheap MTB onone baggies. I don't need liners as I have tonnes of bibs, is there a place similar to px that does cheap mtb shorts? Just want something for pootling on light trails with the family.

I just wear my bib shorts, like I do on every other kind of bike. What do baggy MTB shorts on top of bib shorts do, that bib shorts on their own don't?
    Pannier, 120rpm.

I have 3 sons, 8, 6 and 4. If we're on holiday and we fancy a pootle round the a local lake or just going on a picnic as a family I feel a bit of chump if I get all lycra'd up. If you remember "competitive Dad" from the fast show you might understand what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1AtAQM1mNw

I normally wear some normal civilian cargo shorts, but I'm starting to ruin my daywear as they seem to roughen and chaffe on the saddle and I occasionally catch the nose of the seat somewhere around the crotch. I could do with some basic rugged shorts in a dark colour.

No idea what budget you are looking at, but I managed to get a pair of these in Black, and they are very nice.
Adjustable velcro waist thing as well.

I ended up doing the same, now wear bib shorts for road and MTB, more comfortable, better fitting and dry off really quick as well.

    I've got a few pairs from Decathlon, about £10 each, for family jaunts ; https://www.decathlon.co.uk/100-padded- ... 81864.html
I normally commute in the 500's (~15) over a pair of aldi padded lycra shorts, they work well for 20 miles...
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

It's something I kept missing as well, thankfully new stores near me mean a lot more accessable.

2 pairs of 500's have done 10K miles between them according to Strava on a rock hard road seat, 1 pair is has started to deteriorate to the point it could do with replacement in a few months time. The 100s are a good enough for a 10 mile jaunt on a padded MTB seat.

    Yeah I know :(
I couldn't bring myself to buy any more nonsense. Am looking forward to trying out the big podsacs expedition saddle-bag though. I'm hoping I can ditch the commuter bike a little more often and go with summer best on nice days with little to carry.

That's my bargain to make the ramblings a little more relevant to the thread.

You'll be needing some heli tape for the seat post then. Just ask my 6 week old Deda post, nice shiny aluminium down the back edge :(

Good tip, the post in question is already scared from my little tool bag, but it's a propriety colnago aero job in the bike's colour scheme so probably not replaceable.

That road bike might be just what I'm looking for. Will spend 2 months in Spain for work reasons, and have been considering buying something second hand there, rather than buying a bike box and travelling with mine, especially since it seems I'll be on-off for the foreseeable future and will have the chance to store the bike there.

But, dman it, alu + carbon fork and (almost) full Tiagra at £450 before BC discount? And with the long cage cassette, so I can swap an 11-32 for this and this? And northern pyrenees a short drive away?

Save your money, terrible brakes, cheap as chips frame and finishing kit with super heavy wheels and pants tyres, by the time you start replacing all those BSO parts it'll be close to £1k
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

I see your point. However, how poor is the finishing kit when compared to my aluminium Defy 2? Heavy wheels? check. Tektro brakes? Check. It's true that I've replaced those already, as well as the saddle, but it's not like I'd be comparing with a super-nice ride, and in all likelihood I'd carry my saddle with me.

In the UK, I'd just go second hand, but what I've seen in Spain is crazy expensive. I've been recommended Free Motion, but those are too nice, as I'd like to keep costs under £500 if possible. But this should go to rod buying advice, anyway.

A cheap, value for money bike available Europe wide?
    Decathlon apparently.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Frame probably similar to the previous zenium non disc which the Mrs has. Good frame, tidy forks. Tiagra is excellent. Odd gear choices at that level. Wheels should be fine and around 1800g. Tyres OK, will do a job. At 400 quid with bc it's very decent.
