Seems to be up for a similar discount, but has removable sleeves - is there a reason the Mortirolo is loved more?
I appreciate it is in a more limited range of sizes.0 -
Phew! No stock in my size.
And it's white. Not a good colour for me.FCN 2-4.

Staying on the Castelli theme, this is half price @ £82.50, and available in most if not all sizes - and if you spend more than £99 there is a code for £10 off, oh and 2% cashback through quidco:

TBH - despite trying Castelli and Gore jackets, I still adore my Assos 851 Airjacks - they are just so flexible in use and seem to breathe better. I'm not sure Assos are still doing 851 though - the newer stuff doesn't seem to use it.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Airjack 851 is indeed the dog's danglies, but it's hardly packable. I don't wear mine unless it's cold/windy/wet enough so that I know I don't have to take it off. What's the verdict on the Castelli Compatto then? How small does it fold? Small enough for a jersey pocket?0

Airjack 851's for £120 from Dooleys. Someone buy them all before I go and get one to hang next to the Castelli jacket

Yeah - I wasn't comparing it to the Compatto (I picked up a half-price ClimaSchutz for that duty ) but the string of other Castelli jackets above.dhope wrote:Airjack 851's for £120 from Dooleys. Someone buy them all before I go and get one to hang next to the Castelli jacket

Holy mackerel that is tempting!
Bizarrely on the delivery page, it states that delivery for clothing is £3.50, and orders over £149 are free, yet on the main site, and when you go to order, it says orders over £300 are free, and postage is £8.50.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

I was really lucky and stumbled upon mine (IIRC) at JE James - last one on clearance and it was in my size too - it's extremely good. That's basically how I buy all my Assos stuff - just lurk and snap stuff up when it's heavily discounted.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -

Anyone got ideas on sizing of these? Although I'm quite happy with my Sugoi Versa, thinking a slick jacket for weekend use
There's 2011 & 2012 on versions on wiggle no idea which crc has but, wondering if they differ..0 -
Also while I'm getting kitted up, could the Biemme wearers please tell me the difference between the Coronado & Yoga bibtights0

Coronado has wind-proof panels on the front, Yoga doesn't. I only have the Coronados, but rate them very highly. Especially on cold, windy days.0 -
aaaah shat rang the store and no more Coronado available, had to update web to store/stock levels.
said the Yoga's were updated version without windtex, but doesn't sound like an update to me...
edit - scrap that, found them on another website poorly labeled as Biemme bib tights with the real info in the details but, saved me 10 beer tokens for my troubles0 -

Baselayers make a worthwhile trip but the HR monitors are pointless if the same as last batch..0

I've bought a few Lidl/Aldi bits in the past.
HR monitor was a piece of junk and got returned
Tights and shorts are ok as a last resort for a commute if everything else is in the wash and your ride is less than 10 miles. It's marginal whether I choose to wear normal clothes or my Aldi tights to be honest.
Jerseys are pretty awful, baggy fit and don't wick properly so they feel sweaty pretty quick, ewe.
If you want some cheap cycling gear hunt around in the sales and get some dhb stuff.0 -

Me too. I picked up my 851 tights for 70 euros and won the matching jacket in the recent Assos outlet draw. Great kit but RRPs are just silly.0 -
For anyone who's still considering the Castelli gear from JeJames and is unsure of sizing, my Mortirolo & Velocissimo bibs arrived earlier today.
The bibs are spot on as expected (already have some in same size), but i was pleasantly surprised to find the Mortirolo a bit more "generous" than i had feared. As a big fat lad i am talking about an xxxl here, so maybe they are just taking pity on the larger, Northern European gentleman. For comparison, i have some Campag gear also in xxxl and it is noticably tighter.
If it helps, I am just shy of 6ft, fluctuate between a 36 & 38 waist in jeans and i like beer. I went for the xxl in bibs.0 -

To add, my medium jacket arrived today. Great fit at a normalish 5'11" @ 75kg, 38" chest.0 -

Alternatively...
I bought a wireless Lidl bike computer with HRM and it was excellent. Rather superior to the vastly more expensive VDO I later bought and more reliable and better designed. I have bought cycling shoes from Aldi and Lidl and they have lasted forever. The Aldi road shoes look smarter after a vast mileage than my Northwave shoes that cost four times more and have covered four times less mileage.
The jerseys, rainjackets and softshell jackets (particularly good) I've bought from Aldi (generally reckoned to be better than the Lidl tops) have all performed excellently though the sizing can occasionally be a bit erratic. Sometimes they get it wrong and they fit nobody but mostly they get it pretty right. I have probably covered about 20,000 miles commuting in Aldi tops and they won't die. The rainjackets are non breathable but OK for fending off the worst rain on a 10 mile commute. They compare well against far more expensive kit.
I only once tried the shorts and they were a really odd fit so I never bothered again. The Lidl summer socks are the best I've found anywhere!Faster than a tent.......0 -
