Impressive comedy style flip. Love the groans :D.

Foot down did it I think.
  • Any one up for a ride in the day this week?

Thursday or Friday are my days off if anyone fancies?

also anyone up for Afan on thursday the 12th going with my mate Roj and going to do whites level and Skyline july. Farily early start no space in car i'm afraid but could meet there if you can get there.

After that Sat 21st if anyone wants a tour, likely to do leith from Westcott, over to holmbury( maybe pitch) and then back to leith. Looking at some of the thread looks like some of you would like a few more options to join all the bits up.

My shifts only allow me to ride this week somewhere after 16.30. Any day.

DKenny, that was, oh no, that person and still is my Apprentice! 1st ride ever was in Swinley (Labyrinth+DH area), 2nd was BKB etc in Surrey Hills, and his 3rd ever time on MTB at Afan on Y Wall trail.

    Talk about mad Popstar's bootcamp?

In my eyes, apprentice is the raddest rider progression wise. I am not trying to make a jest, but apprentice's falling skillz are ace. Usually people crash in the middle of trail and stay lying there groaning'n'moaning creating obstacles and an actual traffic jam, on the other hand, Apprentice had his moment*_ and folded away from trail rather -neatly. Like a real PRO.

what was your name? nicknames are confusing :)
  • Atz I'd be up for an early morning sunday Swinley visit yeah, we need to pursuade nick too as he enjoyed it there last weekend and beat his 'have no energy' woes with some sweet runs of labyrinth. We could have happily stayed longer

Anybody fancy a quick jaunt around epping tonight?

Oh, it's just a tear on the sidewall. Think Aston did it :D

I like my Maxxis Ignitors so may stick with them (or maybe the High Rollers) but was thinking of getting folding variety. I'll probably go with a repair on the current tyre for now, but it's worn down a fair bit so could do with new ones.

Was thinking of getting some DH as well for future DH ventures (when I've got all the extra armour!).

+1 highrollers. 690gr for folding one, Minions would be better for Rad grip and they weigh 10gr more.

I m going to try the new michelins enduro wild grippers, and they seem pretty light. My previous experience was michelin wild gripper xc were fastest rolling tyers I found.
If you need a DH tyer I can still lend a minion DH super tacky sticks like glue...

for sunday i cant guarantee even if i want to get out, I still need to get my wheel straightened...

So, found a cool thread right up my alley.. (cheers Popstar). Only chilling on a sub-500 HT for now, getting my eye in on some lght trail riding and xc after a good few years away from riding. Live next to Swinley so hit that every Thurs (just back from a 10 mile slog/tour/explore.. sweeet as usual.).

A couple of us are at Swinley every Thurs eve so if your there and see a guy in a red top writhing in agony after (another) slip/flip shout Buckaroo and I'll say 'ello.

Hope to get an explore of a few more spots in the south/south-east so hope to say 'ello to a few of ya round Newlands, SH and Leith in the near future.

    Cheers
    S

The cost of your bike doesn't determine the skill of the rider, I wouldn't worry about that. You lucky to live next to Swinley Forest. That place is awesome for playing around, and no climbs at all down there.

I think 4-2-3 is DH5. If so, that nearly killed me, so unlikely :D (though as I mentioned before, their video doesn't look like the DH5 we did).

So options this weekend appear to be Sat run with Richard in SH, Sunday Swinley or Sunday SH with Popstar?

Isn't 4-2-3 run with that steep slope switchbacks?

Sunday with Popstar at 17.00 or Swinley with Atz gang in the morning.

Really need to stretch legs before start making proper love to me bike this Tuesday. Wednesday, taking infected collegues to SH again, BKB and the likes ... going to be quite intensive week for me!

Wish you speedy recovery ATZ. It's all strange, people started to crash around no matter on bikes or not.

DKenny and bike sorted for a ride? Take care riding with Rich, he is rad rider. Could you please again link me up with music playlist last time I was talking about? Need to download tonnes of music for movies.

Atz you are the one who goes around and knows music flavour, throw some nice flare with advice please?

    See some folk on sunday.
  • Hi I know epping forest really well if any of you want to head in there and I can show you some bits you might not know give me a shout. Not sure if any of you have been on the loughton side of the forest or been up to pole hill but there's some sections there you might like.
