Thats fine, we'll be aiming to get there around 9 too, I'll PM you Cooldads phone number in case we get lost, or forget to wake up.

The body says no, but I say maybe. What kind of time? Not up for anything early.

@DK not too early - 10ish. Just a gentle one, need to keep some strength for next week.
Where? Leith hill for a change?

Yeah, why not. Not sure where to start. Meet at the crossroads at Coldharbour? Can attempt to find the way from there to Leith. Or go from Peaslake, or maybe the Youth Hostel car park.

The Youth Hostel's kinda in the middle of everything, otherwise if you reckon you can get to Leith from Redlands we might find some new stuff.

Only been from Redlands to Leith once. Forget who that was with. In fact was that with you when we went via that jump area and one of your aerial stunts? :D. Think we went on from there and it crosses somehow to Wolverns Lane. Then you're pretty much near Summer Lightning. Though it's all going backwards really. May be more fun going the other direction.

Anyone else about? ffc - how's the back?

Aha, by the sounds of it then maybe the YH will be better?

We'll be spending the day getting bikes ready and packing for Wales on Monday so won't make it.
Went for a little pootle around SH today with DK, turned into a mini epic. Found some new bits, great ride, totally shagged.

Yeah, did go a bit further than I expected. Started at the YH for Leith made it a killer starting on the long climb to Leith. And now I've caused the ribs, arm & shoulder to flare up again. Need rest :D

Hope it hasn't shagged you out too much for Wales!

But yeah, some little bits of new stuff. Found the jump area again. Bumped into two other Tims, one had an impressive spill and argument with a tree on Deliverance (was looking almost like Helter's crash all over again) :D.

Oh, and got another glowing recommendation for Jedi's skills course.

Did the 3 hills in a little over two hours today. The HT climbs a LOT better than my trance, but is a lot more of a handful on the downs. Still, for solo runs around, it's definitely easier to get the miles in quickly.

ATZ real men ride HT, as well as me.

All packed up and ready for our week in Wales.

See you all soon as long as we don't fall off a mountain.

Unfortunately August with Jedi doesn't look too good, the man is busy with dates. Only few days are available and even then they are working days. Start times are either 9.00 or 14.00. The course runs for 4 intensive brain hours. Think I will save up and go for VIP lesson alone on working day, hope there were some crazy nutts like me to join and spend the dosh for skillzzz.

Cooldad ... you will be allright.

After seeing Helter's Ragley my whole body is itching to get that frame. Think HT will get it's place in my fleet, don't know how to convince me wife though for that. Maybe park it into the tree somewhere the same Helter did? Though her Hardrock is a good looker but maximum it takes 100mm I believe. Need to change fork from Suntour to Reba's and see if it copes enough with expectations of Popstar.

Tim's ... hmm, they tend to conflict with mother nature and argue with tree's on a daily basis? Headbutting the ground isn't polite you see. Shouldn't be cocky that though, Afan is waiting for us ... lets roll baby, -aauuu !

No idea what his name was other than it was 'Tim'. I'm Tim also and the guy was there with his friend... also Tim.

Said he did a one-on-one course I think. Just bumped into these guys doing some of the jumps on Leith and tagged along for a little while. You certainly come well regarded anyway, and if you're recommended by a Tim then all the better :D.

Just get the frame and do parts swaps when you feel like a change :)

I'm not sure. It could have been. It was a black thing, but my memory for bikes is as bad as for remembering names! :D thel33ter would remember I'm sure.

In the end we went to swinley, my first time there, there are some brilliant DH runs in some gulleys with nice tables landing in berms... begining was really hard lack of sleep, meant wide bars clipped a tree in the tight stuff.

Dirt jumps are fun, id like to return during the week after work, but I dont know if i could find them again.

Sounds like the Deerstalker/Labyrinth area and/or the jump gully. Both have jumps. The former is the DH bit with tables and berms.

Might be able to do after work if it's after 6pm though can't do Wednesday or today.

There are some good maps in this thread: http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12684311

Deerstalker is my favourite bit generally although Labyrinth (top) would be equal if it wasn't for the shitty sandy cut town into the first section. The 2nd part of Lab is a good ride all times of year though.

I might be up for dragging the bike to the office with me tomorrow, maybe even the HT.

A little raw video report on Sunday Warrior Heroics unedited** at Afan. The brave man had to battle with climbs, nearly had a heart attack and eventually had an agrument with mother nature. Headbutting the ground is evil !

Waiting for software recovery update, will do full report with music and SFX.

p.s. quickly uploaded on request of the given rider, miraculously no a single scratch on the face?! Kind of shaving beard off Cooldad style*
