Anything happening in swinley on Sunday, finally got my enduro back together and I'm provably free.

Get off a plane 9ish Sunday, faff around chasing missing luggage for a few hours and getting home, so probably can't make anything Sunday. Jet Lag will be hitting me big time anyway. Though maybe a bike ride is a cure for that!

If I do get anywhere it'll be a Swinley this weekend.

The advice seems to be that Aston will probably still be really slippy at the moment and I should wait till next weekend so I'm up for Swinley. What sort of time is everyone thinking?

Tried out Strava today, got the fifth fastest time on Tank Traps :D Also noticed DK has the fastest time through Satans Grotto, by a considerable margin

An unachievable time it seems! 9.9mph through there seems unlikely, at least for me.

There are a few odd figures in Strava, probably caused by GPS glitches. Fun though and good for learning names of trails.

Wow DK welcome back to these shores! You had finally realised that here is pure heaven to live in and bike so please forget those Yankies with their cheap dollas and über Mackiedeez. Their food rubbish, although I would like to scoff at their portion sizes.
Why no pictures of food of the gods on Facebook? I can't believe you didn't have any? Please mend that, peace.

This thread is for real people who ride bikes. You fail on both counts.

Food - wasn't busy taking photos of the monstrous sized food all the time. You must have missed this one though. Small meal but nice and healthy ;) - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =1&theater

Now have to shed the weight from the food despite two weeks of skiing just about every day.

And just to keep with bike tradition, had a broken collar bone amongst us too. Doesn't feel right to not have some decent injury.

Have to say Utah could deserve a return trip on the bike too, though the trip there sucks without a direct flight.

Anyway - plans for the weekend?

Welcome back! Looks like you had a great time away :)

I can only ride Sunday and was thinking about a bit of Aston Hill action in prep for Cwmcarn. Went last Sunday and had a lot of fun, quite scary fun but fun none the less. The only problem is that I also want to spend the day watching the Australian GP and the South African DH world cup and drinking beer...

Aston needs to be bone dry before I go back there again. Has it dried out yet?

More up for Surrey Hills. May be out during the week too when I've caught up on various duties and in between looking for work (still!).

It was damp I would say, most of it was grippy but there was one particular turn on the Red Run that caught me out first time down and I came off. If it stays dry all week I guess it'll be fine? If you guys are all going for a SH ride I might be more tempted by that but I guess I'll have to see how it is nearer the weekend.

Hi guys, is anyone be about next Sunday 25th March to show me and a couple of mates around SH?

Really fancy doing Xmas Pudding, Summer Lightning etc.. Just don't know how to get there! Cheers, Eug.

Can do. Xmas Pud and Summer Lightning are a long distance apart though, about 3 hills apart. Can do a big mission though Winterfold->Pitch->Holmbury->Leith and back or some other combination if people are up for it.

Or can do Winterfold and Pitch with a bit of Holmbury one day and that would cover all the main trails inc Xmas Pud, Yoghurt Pots and BKB with a load of others. Summer Lightning for another day if we do Leith and that end perhaps.

Is anyone riding at Swinley tomorrow? I can be there from 11.00am as I have household duties to perform before my MTB pass is signed off by long haired sergeant major.

Looking like heavy rain until lunch. Might be out after.

Sunday - Still good for Surrey Hills. Weather is showing it might just get a light shower or get away with none.
