There's a whole new section at the start that branches left and goes on for ages with big berms, bombholes and even a couple of rocks! Okay, it's not quite a rock garden (literally it is just two rocks), but to find rocks on a trail in Swinley is rare.

Eventually it comes back near to the beginning and you continue on the existing trail from there.

Also a crazy load of trails round by Go Ape, like a maze and loads of twisty corners, little berms, junctions, roundabouts!, bumps, all kinds.

Just ignore that it's the Segway track :D

A post on mtbbritain says they're okay with cyclists on it, but not during the day. I guess during business hours when Segways will be on it. No sign of Segways today so had a bit of fun on it. Bit of work though as it doesn't flow and corners are obviously designed for the turning ability of a Segway.

Edit: It's open from the 9th so guess it's rideable daily until then, and after that it's closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays and during term time. http://www.go-trax.co.uk/

I had it pegged as a kiddies MTB course. Clearly it sounds like it challenged you though with this talk of segway corners ;)

As for stickler... bombholes, do you mean rootholes? Or small bombs?

Real bombholes, quite deep (you'd be scared), big berms and as DK said, a few rocks to hop off.
A couple of the berms are like walls of death, and nice and smooth. Good fun.

Some were fairly deep bombholes, one a bit hairy the first time you see it as it's steep (for Swinley) and quick rise out. Good potential for some face plants there for some.

All smooth though. They'll fill up with water easily I'd have thought unless drainage is good and there's no line around them.

So kind of like the rootholes on the same trail then, just deeper.

Doesn't make much difference what they're called if they're fun. BTW, Snow and Rock's in-house cycle surgery in Chertsey has a LOVELY Yeti hanging up that I bet is just your size. If I hadn't recently blinged up I'd have been tempted.

Itching to get out and ride somewhere soon. Been stuffed with work for the last few weeks :-(.

Only been to Swinley once before (when I still had the Rockhopper). Sounds like I missed all the good stuff. Mind you, I did have my wife, daughter and 5 of her friends in tow so the "expert area" was pretty much out of bounds that day .

DK, check out my ad in the for sale section. You might be interested in the first piece for sale....:-).

For the pedantic Atz - they have been dug with spades and stuff, so technically spade holes, not root or bombholes.

The new bit!... Beginning of Stickler. Not all bad, did it twice (each way) either way works, superb for polishing up left or right berm skills (I need both), plus some chances to polish up the pump technique on the 'uppy-downy' bits (my terminology...). Worth naming?... There was talk of "Bacon" last week, theL33ter was heading towards naming new trails after items usually found in a tasty fry up.... so... Fried Egg?... Black Pudding?... Full English? :)

Handy that Stickler has been repaired too, I almost miss the mud... actually no I dont, what am I thinking. A good little workout can be had htting the 'New Bit' both ways then link to Stickler and straight into 'The One That Ends in The World War Two Style Bunker Thingy" (no doubt has a proper name).

All running dry and fast, sweet as.

I think "The One That Ends in The World War Two Style Bunker Thingy" is Tank Traps?

    Less of a mouthful anyway.

    Yep. Tank Traps.

Logic being the concrete things are literally tank traps. Though there are some at one of the ends of Seagull too. No idea why that's called Seagull.

But we can call it Black Pudding :D

It sounds as if popstar badboy has to pay a visit.

Recovering from endoendo over the bars, once fit would need to bomb proper Leith and somehow what's that rave all about in Swinley.

Really itching to get back to Leith hill, amazing stuff to ride down there.

No rave about Swinley, it's just a really good place to practice. Almost no "wasted" miles in climbing long roads or transitioning between areas and you can run the same bit loads of times to make adjustments. We probably did 10-15 runs down babymaker yesterday and everyone seemed to get faster and smoother.

We did the "one off to the right when you do the one on the left" today. Looks like no one had been down it for ages and was really smooth.

SH climbs aren't wasted. They lead to awesome trails and stuff that goes down.

Though an uplift would be nice.

But not so good for sessioning. Some bits round Leith I guess you could.

Hoping to get back onto Ranmore, Box and Redlands at some point. Wonder if they're still doing this supposed filming in Redlands.

Was just trying Buckeroos terminology. The trail down on the left, don't know what it's called, just as you get onto it on the first little drop, you can turn right and there's another trail. That one.

That's the labyrinth. Which then continues once you get to the crossroads.

Aah I thought labyrinth was just the bit after the crossroads. So it's sharp right just after the start of labyrinth. Left right as opposed to left left.

So next weekend deff Surrey hills, but this time riding -amuse bush-, DH ,Summer Lighting, Play area, Deliverance and Desert. All is manageable under 2 hours. Second part after break you gang plan ... could be Redlands if weather allow!

That would be raddest ride doode?! No them silly berms etc, just all nice riding with gap jumps drops etc Supra's style.
