    bikes, somewhere muddy, too early

    Answer your questions?

It's been a while so I hope everyone is doing well.

We'll be riding Aston Hill this Saturday if anyone is interested in coming out. Rain, snow, or hail it don't matter we need to get out of London and on to a trail!

AlenK, got your SC from the States finally? I would like to smoke you down the trails ! No more P1 BS please.

Leith and Redlands offer some good XC, which has to be respected in our stakes. It's no DH but it is awesome.

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though

No the SC is still home, I've gone the other way it seems. I switched to a rockhopper m4 which confuses me with all those funny gears in the front.

However, I do now posses a fully functioning fork so im game for a little bit of playing 8)

    You riding this weekend?

I wouldn't touch Redlands until the spring now. Swamp is the best description for it. Guess that's why Mangrove Alley is called what it is.

There's plenty on Leith anyway. Is that a plan or are we off to Peaslake?

I don't think Ross will fit in a rucksack, especially not with a baby in tow.

    Back to the topic, WHERE?!

Maybe go from Westcott up to Leith, mess about round there etc ?

Or Peaslake -> Holmbury -> Leith and back (maybe via sneaky route).

Westcott is a ballache for parking every time I've stopped there but if people want to meet there, can do. I don't think I'm fit enough for hauling myself to and from leith from the usual meeting point right now.
  • bikes at the doctors but should be back today,
any decision on sunday, happy to do leith or whatever.
best get out on it as it's probably gonna bankrupt me.
will check back sat or cooldad txt me
    see you all soon

True, Westcott is a pain. I don't mind where really.

Another option for a larger car park is the car park near High Ashes farm. However Cooldad (and anyone else with bikes on the roof) won't get his car under the barrier with a bike on top, but there's the little lay-by car park bit further along.

Or Coldharbour. Not much parking space round there.

I'll pay good money to see cooldad ruin his and l33ters bikes on a low bar. I'm easy either way, we've parked in Coldharbour a few times but perhaps you're right and the other side is best.

  • i'll be along this sunday on my new steed, though it may be entertaining as it didn't seem very mud friendly when i went round the local common to semi set my suspension.

Ok, so 10am around there. We'll find it.

My rear shock still seems to work after it's service too.
Although none of the bearings in the frame moved when it was out, now topped up with 3 in 1, hopefully they'll see me through to summer.

    Atz @ 9.30 ish?
    Us @ 10 ish?

DK and MrB what time is best for you? 9.30 is a bit of a push, but prefer to start together, although DK will be late anyway.

    Anyone else planning on coming.

Pieman is but I will text him once arranged.
