As for that Alps thing, or any Alps trek, this seems like a great option for accommodation and the price is per week. http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12749274

Wouldn't really want to do it just for a day or two (or if I did, I'd fly there, but then I'd fly anyway. Drives that take all day just make me think I could be on a flight to the States or Canada instead for the same duration and be somewhere better).

Drivin 10-12 hrs?.... Could be in Canada by then... mmmmmm.

Cheers for the blast today guys, good to blow the cobwebs off and hit 2011 running (well, rolling at least). And no major spills, even down Yoghurt Buckets where I was sure I was gonna flip upside-leftways.

Quick panorama from Pitch Hill this morning...(http://flic.kr/p/96NtwC) 5316504380_964ef5a6b7.jpg

Have left the bike in the car, if I make it out of my pit in the morning will aim for Swinley for 8.45.... maybe....

@Biggsy80. Nice to meet you too, even though I was too far behind most of the day to chat. See you on a SH ride soon.
@bungalistic glad to see you are mobile again. Missed the heroics.
@Stan I joined the other forum, but now have too many places to remember to log in, so keep us posted of anything exciting here anyway.

@all my 2000th post, thought it appropriate to post it here, seeing as we post so much random nonsense.

Shiny new shock arrived yesterday 8) :D .

As long as the forks and brakes turn up by Friday, I'll be up for Peaslake Sunday.

    Brakes? Pah! Who needs them?
(As you found out they are dangerous things.)

Unfortunately, even slowcoaches like me need them when we have "all the gear and no idea" .

Looking forward to trying out the new RP23 and Fox Talas's though :D . At least the RP23 is the correct length for the bike so no more piss-taking about riding a jacked-up tractor 8)

While I've got it apart, I'm thinking I'll put the Panaracer Fire XC's off my daughters bike on for this weekend given how wet it is.

BB higher than wheel axles, that is some proper gnarly clearance against root n rocks! However those yellow valve caps? Why tyre logos aren't alligned with valves and grass between bricks isn't trimmed?

AB you dissapointed fashion police no end. There is so much to do.

    specialized enduro 06 gone snif
    RS Lyrik U-turn sold
    Mondraker Dune XR

But your cousin is in France, therefore it applies to him. You riding bike like that here, would mimic black ship on our UK trails. For which peeps would slap countless jokes on you being french minded. There is nasty world of fashion police talking like that.

But anyway why would I talk to most pompeous rider like that, go on bhoy ... yea, You and Atz show us your bikes. For now they are the most pimp ones though. I no more can match you lot.

At least Atz sent me a dozen of MTB films so I will indulge in fantasies with those most pimpest bikes to date. Just need to match their skills though, last few crashes on my wife's bike costed me a bit in repairs but I must learn how to powerslide !

I'm not around this weekend. Off away but I'll try to sneak in a couple of hours of SS on Sat AM to try to restore some semblance of fitness.

Got the Man Flu at the moment, will see how it goes for Sunday.

P.S. Spotted this on Hurtwood's blog:

"Over the last few weeks we've been erecting some post and rail barriers opposite the ending of the new BKB trail. This was done to prevent bike riders using a footpath, rather than the road, back to Peaslake. This footpath is used regularly by pedestrians to walk safely into the village without having to go onto the road. Sadly the first barriers we put up were ripped out, so far their replacements are still in place, however the signs I put up, have been vandalised."

Bit to do the weekend, but if anything is happenning I could probably do Sunday AM. Bright and sunny according to BBC.
@DK - suppose we,ve been told off and better start using the road.

I haven't seen that many walkers on that path. But maybe there are some assholes around riding like retards 'n' scaring those posh people. Them walking people whinge a bit too much though.

+1 for ripping those rails out ! Don't mess with sunday warriors i say. I nearly killed myself on one of those.

I am locked at home on a stand by mode. Can't even go on a local hill to practise powerslides and crash.
