Here are a couple of others; on a track approaching Montserrat, the following in the mist getting cold at the top of the Port De Bales. The one in my signature was on the best ride I have ever had, from 'Coll de Nago' to 'Solsona' in Spain.

You really don't want that bike to fall over, do you?

 Tis true. I was actually using the stands while I fitted the cadence sensor rather than drag the workstand out......honestly!

Finally too a few quick pics of the Planet X I bought when they had the 20% off Dura Ace offer, earlier this year.

    A few spec details:

    PX Model B Wheels
    Rubino Pro 3 tyres
    Zip Carbon bars and stem
Exotic carbon seatpost (soon to be swapped for a Ti one)
Selle Italia Thoork Gel Flow Saddle
    LifeLine Ti bottle cages

    I love it.

Hi EICani - great looking bike and pics - are the logos on the frame etched/ sandblasted?

I'm pretty sure that seatpost wouldn't last v.long if if I were riding! What's your thinking about the Ti replacement? (just for info I recently went from C post to a Thomson Al one with no weight gain).

One last thing...just how did you manage to get the bike to rest on that small bottle of lube then?

Logos are indeed etched or blasted on. Very smart.

I've got a Van Nicholson Ti seatpost on order from Fat Birds Don't Fly (they've made a real meal of getting it to me, sending the wrong one and now struggling to get hold of the right one). I went for the Van Nic because it has 15mm layback (the main reason I'm changing) and is not too pricey for a Ti post. I want a Ti post (rather than Al) because I'm vain!

The Wilkos oil bottle nozzle is wedged into the pedal. Before anyone freaks out, I don't use Wilkos oil to lube my chain - I use chainsaw oil!
  • A couple of years ago I sold my thirty year old Gios (which was third hand and slightly too big) and promised myself I would build another bike that I couldn’t really justify but was going to have anyway! I have been using my Titanium Van Nicholas Yukon which I have been impressed with, as I intend to keep this replacement bike for a long time Titanium was a logical choice. I actually bought it two years ago but couldn’t afford a few of the items I really wanted, I originally fitted cheaper wheels and seat pin for example; two years later I can and it’s finally finished.

    Hi Scottie,

The bike rides very nicely. It is comfortable on rough sections of road and although the wheels have bladed spokes, thers not a lot of shock transferal through the bike. It's very nimble on the climbs (I wish I was :-)) and it corners like its on rails :-) It weighs 17.02lb, i weighed it today at the concept store in Ruislip :-) Just booked in to get a BG fit done also...

Sounds very nice indeed - I do like Lynskey's and it's always nice to hear another happy owner. I think the R230 is the one I'd choose too - supposed to be a great all rounder.. That's a good weight as well - I imagine the Force groupset helps a little with that. Have fun with it and hope the BG Fit session helps too.

I bought the R230 because it was the cheapest frame they did but it was also just what I was looking for in terms of riding style etc. The groupset weighs in the region of 2kg but I'm not entirely sure.

Regarding the BG Fit, I had one done on my Roubaix and it did help with setting up my riding position. I'm getting fitted into a pair of S-Works road shoes also during the fit, provided they turn up in time :-) I'll let you know how it goes...

Here's my Vortex whcih sime say was the finest ti frame ever made (go on have a pop!) - this ones a custom with non integrated headset and cable stops on the headtube.

I Must admit i much prefer the traditional geom to the compact of my siena, it just feels right somehow.

I'll be changing out the seatpost soon, just cant get round to popping in a £130 ritchy post and scraping off all the decals. also just ordered a set of custom white Vortex graphics to go with the wheels. oh going to pop in a cane creek 110 headset to replace the King.:

Hi Turneround. About the Vortex, a great looking bike you have there. I wondered about the forks you have. Are they particularly wide bladed & therefore stiff? Or is this more to do with the angle of the bike in the photo?

i tried a pair of them forks on my titus and found them to be the flexiest fork in the history of forks. they look stiff but stiff they aint.
