Still no wheels today
But I did get these through the post (for the tart in me)
That's right, orange rotor bolts
Bargain off ebay, about a fiver from Hong Kong0 -
I've been working on this all night. Those Atlas cranks are a proper mare to fit properly.
Well, it's all sorted now. I used my old DH wheels and tyres for tonight. I'm hoping my new wheels will arrive tomorrow so I can finish off.
I was a little worried about fitting the custom decals for the forks, wasnt sure how hard it would be or how good they'd look when done. It must be said, I'm rather impressed.
Here is a couple of shots of the beast as it stands tonight.

Looking good ! I think ive found a buyer for my 456 frame so will be leaving the 456 parade ! Ace bikes but i fancied something a bit more bouncier
O and i find that if my chain is joined up i improve my power transfer to the rear wheel by a billion squillion percent !0 -
Been out this morning and finished everything off. As it happens, it's a cracking day here too. Might see about going for a little ride later.
Note the orange colour cable ends :P
Can't wait to see how good it looks with white wheels
Some daylight pics.

cheers
Codes as expected are powerful enough to stop a planet turning. They did need de-gassing straight out of the box though (which I thought they would anyway). Luckily, I already have a avid bleed kit and some DOT so it was a 5min job.
Still heavy (32.5lbs) but I think it should be under 30 when the new wheels and tyres are fitted. TBH, weight wasnt a major factor when choosing bits, strength and quality were the main things I wanted.0 -
Brake lines look to long, mine used to be like that till I shortened them.0

Brake lines definately dont want to be any shorter. Could maybe do to take another couple of cm off the gear outers, don't think they are too bad though.
I've just been out for a quick ride round the block and 2 things instantly stand out.
1. I maybe should have ordered the Firm spring, It's not TOO bad, and the compression adjustment certainly helps, but I reckon it might bottom out on big hits. I'm used to the 66 which could be topped up with air to firm it up a bit. and never thought about that when buying these
2. Not sure exactly what it is, but I feel MUCH lower and further forward. I suspect it's a combination of the 10mm less on the steerer, the 75mm more on the bars and the 10mm (minimum) less travel. Really makes a MASSIVE difference.0 -
looks nice mate who did ya graphics mate0

I got the Pike graphics done by this guy on Ebay for £6. I got 2 sets too which I think is great value.
I was going to get Silk to do them for me but got bored of waiting for a reply to my emails.
I sent him an email asking if he was able to do them in orange and he made some up special order for me. Took about 4 working days from ordering them to receiving them, and they were coming from Portugal so I dont think that's too bad at all.
He's not got a massive selection though, and I'm not sure how easy it'd be for him to get hold of the designs for other decals but it's certainly worth dropping him an email to ask.0 -
Very very nice Mr No tail 8)
Only thing I'd change really is the red chainstay protector, looks odd with the orange, black would be better but otherwise a lush bikeOrange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

PS, I personally like the lime green bar ends, lime green and orange suit each other and its only a small accent of greenOrange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

Cheers matey.
It is actually an orange chainstay protector. Just seems to be a very, VERY deep orange. I've washed it but it's still not faded. Not sure how to make it go lighter.0 -
how are you finding the super wide bars?0
-
They're errrrm, wide! Like REALLY wide.
I've not had chance to give them a proper trial yet. I'm going to see how my ribs feel tomorrow and may go for a quick blast round the local loop.0 -
