If its the same as the mini-mono hose then no special tools required, just unscrew the cup that holds the old hose and screw in the new one. You need a fairly decent cable cutter if it's a braided hose to get a clean finish. can't help with saints I'm afraid.Santa Cruz Chameleon

By the way- very nice looking bike - when you first said you were going for orange and brown I almost vomited into my coffee. but it turns out it works rather well, with the splashes of white. are the stickers on the 456 white or cream?Santa Cruz Chameleon

Lol!
The on-one logos are painted cream. Would have preferred white but this is how they come.
I've just had a Lizzard skins chainstay guard delivered this morning in orange and that's all the orange there's going to be.
I've pussied out and decided to let my LBS handle the headset and BB. They say they'll face and chase and fit BB and headset for around £30 so I figure it's money well spent. As much as I want my bike up and running, I do want it doing properly.0 -
Cofee and cream, mmmMMMmmmm
Looks good, any reason why you aren't keeping the colours just brown and white/cream? I am awaiting a new frame myself this week, pretty boring colour scheme of black with blue accents for my build.0 -
for a start, cream is a bltch of a colour to find for bike bits so it would have to have been brown and white. but I like having the orange in there, makes it stand out a bit more and just adds a little bit of colour to the whole thing.
Trust me, compared to the build I had planned if I'd have got the orange summer season frame, this is as mild and demure as they come.
Just invested in a new digital camera so when it's all finished I can finally take some nice pics of my bikes instead of the awful blurry junk you get off most camera phones.0 -

I put white brake hoses on there 'cause that's what the factory elixir brakes had.. don't see the point with changing them. They look ok & are functional.
Gold braided hoses would look bling but a bit pointless (I don't think goodrich make gold - also goodrich aren't compatible yet with elixirs - pity)
tell me what tyres to fit for larger volume ?
Jagwire make gold hoses IIRC and goodridge elixir fittings will be available in the new year, CRC are saying 11/1/100 -
when i first saw this thread i thought brown. errr thats gunna look rubbish. but actually i love the look of your bike. i am looking at buying an on-one as a "practical bike" and a long travel hardtail,0

may ride my 456 for the first time tmrw, subject to final adjustments - will report back0 -
Cost for LBS to fit my headset and BB = £5 and a chocolate orange
Score!
Finish work in 45 mins, then got to do a birthday party for my eldest daughter, then gonna get building baby YEAH!0 -
i think you need a new camera aswell. in all your pics the colours look dodgy,
maybe it's my eyesight, who knows0 -
no, it's not you it's the crappy 3mp camera on my phone in low light. Hoping to get it mostly finished tonight. If I'm lucky, my new stem, grips and rear QR will arrive tomorrow then I'll get some pics up of the (almost) finished product.0
-
Pics taken on a proper camera, still waiting for white stem and brown grips to fit the White bars. Also want to upgrade brake lines to white braided at some point, but it may need to wait until after christmas now.

wow................................. that looks wayyyy too nice. somebody kick me.0
-
Very nice, massive fan of the on-one frames....... great value and look great.
Nice spec, you just need some end plugs for the bars now... (I recommend Hope)0 -
I have some bar end plugs already, they are orange lizard skinz ones, but I left them off for that pic because I was hoping I'd be able to fit the new bars and grips today.
I also have some grip doctor plugs in the blue and red colour scheme to match those peaty grips. I'll probably be giving them away when my new ones arrive if anyone wants them.0 -
New grips arrived yesterday and new stem arrived this morning. Stuck 'em all on and here's the finished product.
Well, almost. I still want some white braided brake hoses at some point.

that is looking very nice.
now that you took the pics with a decent camera it's even nicer
great job0 -
Looking great, ih all that white it is hard to tell that the decals on the frame aren't Is great the way that 3 corners of the bike are white.
You been out on it properly yet?0 -
Looks great! When I first saw on-one were doing the brown frame I thought WTF but when built up like this it looks awesome
good job bud0 -
looking good - where did you get the front fender on the fork bridge? Does it fit other Marz forks?0
-
Looks excellent that. Colour scheme is very tidy. Not seen a white seatpost before, but it brings the colour to the back of the bike. Job well done0

I like that cat, wasn't a fan of the brown on the on-one webbie, but you've built it up really nicely chap. What We Achieve In Life, Echoes In Eternity0

Cheers dudes.
I took a big chance on getting the brown as I wasnt entirely sure about it myself at first. Really glad I did now though.
The Front mud guard is a mucky-nutz bender fender. As cheap as the dirt that no longer sprays into my mouth on a ride (£7). I've just ordered a white crud race pack to go with it.

They say that it's universal fitting, but I've heard reports from other people saying it dosent fit ALL forks. Basically just a piece of plastic cut into a shape that you fasten on with a bit of velcro. dead simple but works really well.
The White seatpost I have there is an FSA FR270 and can be had from on-one for about £30.0 -
Gold KMC chain would make that looks even more the nuts 8)0

Oh, and just ordered some new wheels too.
Got some mavic 325 rims, on specialized hubs for a cracking £40. Hubs are red, but they were cheap like the bird so I'm not too fussed. The rear is 10mm bolt through, not sure if it's going to fit, but figured it's worth a try. Reckon it should do.0 -
Spoke to one of the guys from On One when i ordered my brown 456, they didn't even know it was going to be metallic! Bonus! Looks really nice CWNT, might have to change my spoon to a brown one after seeing yours, matches is nicely!0
-
Yeh, I thought that too. theres no mention of metallic in the description, I was made up when mine arrived.
How do you find the paint on yours Tolk? Mine seems to chip really easily.0 -
Seems to be holding up so far, although i haven't giving it a good blast round the trails yet. It really needs a crud catcher or similar, as the frame i had before was alu, so the tubes were thicker/wider; this one just sprays in your face all the time!0
