Sorry to distract you from the entertainment, but why were some of your posts deleted? Were they really potentially libellous?

Would someone from Bikeradar care to explain?

. I take it you see yourself more as the asylum director, rather than one of the forum inmates.

A kind of overseer of the loonies if you like

I wouldnt hold out too much hope there after you managed to get a thread deleted earlier in the year i questioned why and was told they are the mods what they say goes end of.

Wait... when did I get a thread deleted?

Anyway, whyamihere kindly sent me a PM back explaining why my posts were deleted, and er, let's just say I am the world's best guesser.

No, it's because they were wrong and potentially libellous. They were reported as such.

You're the boss man, although I just got told different by a different mod. But whatever. Thread over for me. I wanted to know why my posts were removed and now I know. Issue dropped.

PS Jeff I sent you a PM a few days ago regarding a different issue, have you seen it?

No, you got the wrong end of the stick. Your post misidentified someone who wasn't a forum member but who found this thread via a google search. As I said, don't make assumptions about people's identity.

Re your other PM: Sorry but I'm not in a sympathetic frame of mind at the moment. My fuse is a bit shorter than MCole's (who is on holiday). This and the email exchanges I had with an annoyed member of the public this morning have not been a productive use of my time on a Monday.

Fair enough, I apologise for the misunderstanding, but wouldn't want that to affect the other issue, seeing as it's not for me.
  • Oh well. Seems like the Sky, really is the limit around here.
Maybe all the forum crazies ought to check themselves in, at a clinic?

I've never reported a thread in this section to the mods. I made my position on the thread you mention pretty clear, i.e. I raised my objections in the thread.

There's a school of thought that says anyone who googles themselves deserves all they get :D:wink:

However, I'd hate to be a mod in this era of litigation, with London the libel tourism capital of the world so much sympathy with Jeff.

It might go very quiet here.
However, it's far from the only game in town.
It's the closed season now, so all that's left will be news speculation and if you can't speculate.....

Dont think its so much speculation thats the problem its more like accusation and more specifically this guilty only by association line the a lot of posters like to trot out . You only have yourselves to blame if the mods come down hard on you.

Compared to the Cyclingnews forum (the Clinic section) this place is more or less a libel-free zone. Also sorts of accusations (plenty of them crazy) are thrown around like confetti there. I'm amazed it's let go. There and here are the same company, right?

Anyone need a break? Afx and co, there's a case of beer cooling in the fridge and some steak pies, fresh from the oven.

And a bottle of whiskey on the table. Anyone fancy putting on a DVD of this year's cycling highlights?

funnily enough had the tdf dvd of this years tour thru today, and considering ive been a bit under the weather and glued to the sofa, watched it today and there was some great racing at points, stage 3, barca stage, verbier, grand bornand stage, plus cavs wins

Yup, for me it was the most exciting tour- although whether someone in, say, Flanders or Germany would say that I don;t know, but between them the Cav and Brad show had me glued to the TV for three weeks.

google search in groups brings this forum and some of postings in number 2 spot in searches...the forum is not a backwater where people can secretly mudsling...it is quite widely read worldwide I guess.

De La Fuente and Tiralongo look like very good first signings for Alberto. If they can now add maybe one or two more strong climbers maybe even Gilberto Simoni then I would say they are every bit as good as Radioshack.
