damn it my Scotts indexing is all over the place, the inner cable looks fine the rear mech is straight H/L screws are perfect, chain wheels and cassette are next to new, I replaced the rear outer and gave it a squirt of GT85 which has helped, alas I fear i'm going to need to replace the shifter end outer as well, such a ball ache.

i'm this far away from ordering di2

    Try:

    Hanger
    Hanger alignment
    Obfuscation in the BB guide
Movement in the cable entering the lever (yes, you'll have to take the handlebar tape off)
    Jockey wheel cage
    Jockey wheel play
Cable length from stay to rear mech
    Worn chain
    Worn cassette
    Kinks
    Fraying
    Praying...

Trying to free a drive side pedal with only basic tools. Battle will resume this evening. I will never forget to grease the threads again. I only switched it over 10 days ago

I had to relent and take a set of cranks to the LBS a month or two back, but to be fair they were from a twenty odd year old bike.

I'd managed to get the non-drive side out after letting oil seep in for a week or two, drive side no joy.

LBS did it with a bench vice (cranks wrapped in a cloth for protection) and huge park pedal spanner.

If you have a bench vice, that's half the battle - put it in the vice, biggest spanner you have that will fit, liberally apply mallet in correct direction....

Get some Innotec de-blocker. It's the dog's danglies.
At least it's an anti-clockwise removal, which keeps it simpler. Alen key or spanner? Is it easier tp take the chainset off if it's really bad and saves wrapping your knuckles on those things that inexplicably leave that lovely pattern on you calf muscle?

That is actually very useful. Might write it out and stick it to the garage wall!

Rode my Cervelo then decided to actually fit it properly, left shifter to low, brake cables frayed and front mech rubbing as it turns out not aligned and too high.

I tried and failed again to true the wheels, did my usual and made it worse

Took the inner pocket from my Ortlieb Roller Classic pannier and fitted it into my Roller City. Now have a new bag that doesn't have any holes in it.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Did you manage to keep the sealant where it belongs?

Squeezed the tyres on my bike to check they had enough air in them, all good.
Fettled the barbecue instead. I got it free about five years back as it was being thrown out due to it leaking gas and having caught fire. Tightening a couple of fixings was all the repair it needed and has worked fine since. Just had to replace the knob for the middle burner that had melted. Recently it's been getting a bit difficult. Took the valve apart, cleaned up the innards and put it all back together. Works beautifully once more. Barbecued steaks for dinner.

Stripped Bike 1 and rebuilt it; cleaned the filthy minx that is Bike 2.

    Grimy fingernails until Thursday.

Smart money is now on the FUCKING annoying click click from Bike 1 having been a loose cassette lockring. Far too hot to ride today so the suspense will last to tomorrow.
Swim. Bike. Run. Yeah. That's what I used to do.

Cant picture you doing bike repairs, what springs to mind is a 90 year old man trying to send an email

Overhaul of blue ribble trainer. Nearly new Tiagra 4700 gearset, 4600 chainset (with stronglight 52-36 rings) and brakeset, lighter seatpost, saddle, stem, replaced the anatomic bars I don't get on with for some 42cm shallow drops.

Felt rather good on the ride in this morning, it must be said.

Best thing is it was pretty much all hand me down parts, I think the only thing bought specifically for the project was a braze on front derailleur as the one I had was band-on.

Also transferred the old 105 brakes onto my TCR - so the group on that matches up all nice....

LBS had loosened in about 2 seconds. Having the right tools makes a difference! Now the proud owner of park tools pedal spanner! (oh and some grease to minimise the chance of this being quite so stuck in the first place)

The stem on one of my bikes cracked, so I had to get a new one, on spec. Fortunately there was a Cycle Republic about a minute from where I realised what had just happened. They offered to do the swap, and torque the bolts up with a torque wrench, but I couldn't hang around for the hour before they could do it, so a roadside stem swap was in order. I checked the torque when I got home, I wasn't far out, just using a multi tool and the Allen keys I had with me. I should have asked to borrow the shop's wrench, but I didn't think about it at the time. So I've got a Deda Elementi Zero stem now, and it looks like a nice bit of kit.

tried to rivet the hinge back onto the man cave door, those things seemed to be made of cheese all four just broke in half leaving me holding the now wedged and hanging by one side garage door.

long overdue, finally managed to fit compressionless outer to my disc SS (front only). Is it just me who hates changing cables?

Bloody seatpost on the Foil slipped in the middle of my ride today after a pothole bump. Quad-burning ride back so re-tightened - always a bit of guesstimate when you're trying to crank it up without the torque key and without carbon paste (all of which are elsewhere).

Changed derailleur hanger, hoods, and tape on the CAAD after a nasty crash a few weeks back. Running sound as a pound now. Not so sure about the pilot yet, but will see when I go racing again.
