    from BBC website:

qv 'Astana's team has been stopped and searched by customs officials at the Swiss-France border during today's stage. Astana spokesman Philippe Maertens says that a search was conducted for about three hours inside an Astana truck - not the team bus itself - but that nothing of concern was found'

In the space of maybe 50 metres, I just saw - man holding enormous inflatable penis, man in chicken suit, man in gorilla suit. You gotta love the Tour.

I like the two guys with the huge horns on their helmets. Got to be Americans. Who else would do something that crazy? Not sure how that relates to the tour or bike racing. In any case, some one's going to put an eye out.

Customs searched an Astana van earlier.
If they are suspected of transporting suspicious goods, they are unlikely to do it inside a van painted in their colours.

Another puncture for Schleck? Specialized tires are trully rubish, aren't they?

I can't think of other Saxo sponsors that make tires. I may be wrong on the brand. Not on the rubbishness, though.

Is he really using Specialized tires? Or something else, rebranded? One would think he would be on tubulars. Does Spec... make tubulars?

Agreed. A very bad advertisement there.

Hmmm - a 1 hour climb - kind of puts my climbing opportunities to shame :D

    Peleton on the climb now.

I think they are on Zipp tubs, which are rebranded Vittorias. He has punctured a few times but other times he has changed bikes, he likes a lighter one for the final. He did this on the way to Verbier but the commentators claimed it was a puncture.

Going back to the BIKERADAR pro bike review of Cancellera's Tarmac - it says they had VELOFLEX tubulars with the names blanked out. I guess it would similar for the others as well then.

How does Lance get so lucky with not having punctures? What, he's had 2 or 3 in all his years on the tour? Maybe a slightly heavier tire than the norm?

Is the descent of the Petit as twisty as the ascent? If so, should be quite a show.

Suprised that Frederigo can climb - he's got sprinters legs - powerful rider.

Quite a plucky ride by Nick Roache.

Versus is going commercial free again. cool.

Did someone here say that the UK tv feed has close to zero commercials?
