Roulston, Big Jens Voigt,Maaskant, Big George Hincapie, Roche, Bennati, Willems, Le Mevel, Minard, Righi, Ivanov, Ciolek, and Timmer 32 seconds ahead.

Apparently Cav attacked but then sat up

Its gonna be a sprint finish... Cav will have to do something today if he wants Green for Paris

I hope this break stays away and Hincapie wins.

He has to be one of the most deserving pros of a stage win...

Who is best placed on overall? I make Le Mevel at 6.03. I think he's the highest?

EDIT: Actually Hincapie is at 5.25

Break at 5.15 secs - Peleton being controlled by Astana on the front

Holm - of HTC says he is NOT going to put riders on the front to chase down the break - he says George Hincapie is virtual leader of the tour on the road and does not intend to chase the break in favour of a Cav win

Perfect situation for Columbia, they can just suck Astana's wheels all day, if Astana bring the breakaway back Cav's your man. Otherwise I fancy GH to break away at 20k or so.

7 minutes for the break now. Astana ain't chasing that hard - maybe Lance would rather see Big George win the Tour than Big Bert? 8)

I think LA would rather ANYONE won than Bertie

8 minutes now... Bert having a chat with the Astana car. A long chat.

    Imagine that conversation;

Bruyneel: "Oi, Bertie, take some drinks up to the team leader"

    Bertie: "Fcuk off Johan!"

Could be an interesting sub-plot today between Hincapie and Le Mevel. The difference overall is about 40 seconds. Later in the stage we could see le Mevel try to attack and split up the group hoping that Hincapie will get left behind. I think that Hincapie will be alive to this though and know that Le Mevel is the one person he has to mark.

Back down to 8 minutes now.

Terrible news about the accident. Wasn't a young boy killed a few years ago too?

Yup, a 7-year-old boy was killed back in 2002 as the caravan passed through.

Never watched a stage live before; whats the deal with the ag2r guy in the break? Will he be trying to make a nuisance of himself to keep his man in the yellow?

Nah, he'll just sit in, not do any work and try for the stage win... AG2R will almost certainly lose yellow tomorrow.

Has George worn yellow before? I can't remember. 14 Tours is a lot never to have a single day in yellow...

Cheers, I have a vague memory of him in green and polkadots too. Might be wrong, though.
