The only way anyone is going to believe bhima is when he does a TT or Hillclimb and the results are posted up!

There's a bloke who works 12 hour night shifts (as in real night shifts, 8 - 8 ) at local steelworks and still makes it to the run every weekday at 9 30 for a good kicking over the NY Moors.

    No excuse really.

    EVERY week day??

So he works from 8PM to 8AM, then 1 hour 30mins later is meeting your for a kicking over the NY Moors???

Yup, he rides from work straight to the meeting point  He occasionally does manage to get a few sneaky naps in at work though. He's found a good few nooks and crannies to hide in! There's a few firemen in the team who do a similar thing, but they've usually slept right through night shift (a nightmare shift at work for them is if someone was snoring  )

That's insane lol, he must not need much sleep, I'm dead on anything under 6 hours sleep, struggle on anything under 8 hours sleep!

He'd deffo benefit from the club runs as on those long rides with crap loads of hills we all push quite abit on some of the hills.

So did he get out today then? The sleep deprivation thing just took Bhima| world to strange new heights!

I know you're not much for taking advice mate but please, for the good of us all... join a club!

Would the general concensus be that Bhima needs to join a club then?? :D

On The Apprentice next year: the candidates design the first ever turbo trainer dedicated to recumbents :D

So Bhima can do structured interval training (propped in an uphill position) while he makes his posts, while sat in front of his computer :D

Well - it's YOUR club. I know you didn't do the ride today - but do you know anyone who did that you can ask?

Not seen this thread for a few days, brilliant - Bhima also threatened to come out on the Thursday night intervals session the other week and unsurprisingly didnt show.

Anyway I think I have found the (almost) perfect solution to the problem. I was at Mountain mayhem this weekend and guess what - there's a "Team Banana" who ride around with bananas zip tied to the their helmets.

Mountain mayhem had individually timed laps and during the Saturday afternoon, a timed hill climb on the "Kenda Climb".

So Bhima, indulge your passion, join team Banana, ride up hills and have your times to show just how fast you are for all to see. I know you'll have to convert to mountain biking for the weekend, but with your widespread cycling talents I'm sure that won't present any problem to you.... ;)

And who puts that person at the top and who can remove that person?

Clubs are solely about its members who at all times as a collective retain all control over the clubs. At least that is how any club I have ever been a member of (non cycling) has ever operated. It is very much the idea that the club exists solely for its members and the abiity of those members to partake in whatever activity that they have come together to pursue. Indeed the law very much recognises that. Who can be sued if a club race is improperly run? Is it not all the members of that clubs? Might worth bearing that in mind the next time the committee starts asking for more help because they are so over worked.

Things of course could be very different in your club.

The question of whose club it is was not a serious one. Nor is this entire thread.

Your response - while correct in its content and sentiment - was incorrect for THIS THREAD - as it's basically one big piss-take.

Therefore you clearly are NOT in the right thread! :P

Bhima has fcked off, and I don't blame him - the thread has been hijacked by some nutters moaning about cycle club hierarchies.....

Start a bring back Bhima campaign?

Perhaps we should offer him some sort of sponsorship, I wonder what we could give him...

Can we not run a book on why he didn't turn up? My guess is "He was stuck at the recording studio because some guy called 'Bono' was late. Not that he has any idea who this Bono guy is though. Does anyone else know a Bono?"

Sadly I am one of the few who doesnt like bananas, something about the texture I dont like, dont know what it is as I eat almost anything else (within reason!)

And Doyler, dont be so serious, fwiw I'm on the committee of the Wheelers, and of course its the members' club. Any member can attend the committee meeting, we have the usual AGM (and requisite statutory notices) so we're not some cladestine organisation just a bunch of cyclists trying to keep a club going. Plenty of people who arent on the committee (such as the other whheelers who post up on here) take an active role in the club, so we're a pretty happy bunch really. We also carry insurance but manage to run our races just fine, because we have lots of members who pitch in and do their bit to make sure things run smoothly :)

But more importantly, what's happened to Bhima?
