Is there any other kind of "socialist"?
Easy mistake to make socialist and "social list" are different groups.
Social Lists get invited to all the best parties where they make glittering conversation and always bring a gift for the hostess.
Socialists manage to bankrupt the country after the longest period of economic growth in history, the highest levels of GDP and tax revenue, whilst failing teach kids to read, sell Gold when it's at a record low price and have Gordon "financial prudence" Brown tell us he's saved the world.

Ah, thanks GregT - the difference between socialist and solcial list has assisted me in decoding the Scunthorpe joke. Its very rude and very clever.0

I vote Lib Dem...i was brought up to do so and don't know quite why I do. My mother would be horrified If I voted anything else - although she now lives in the Dordogne and UK politics should not bother her.
Sorry - rambling badly...this afternoon shall be rather long!

Thing is, the growth was based on the estimated value of assets, so it was estimated growth.
No one now knows what they are actually worth, the estimate has gone right down, so we are in an estimated recession.
I'm irritated just thinking about it.0 -
I'd estimate that it's a real recession, but I think I know what you mean.
Luckily I invested in gold 3 years ago (hurrah ), my job is secure and my tracker mortage costs me virtually nought. Times are really pretty good for me right now, especially relatively speaking.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0 -

Nope you got it in one. Though in this context I guess doing so (looking down on someone) sounds like fun
