Have you considered just riding to work, back home, back to work in the morning and then the reverse in the evening? Or if that's too much, you could just go partway home in the morning. Easy to do extra miles if you really want to.

That's an interesting idea! Wouldn't work with me though - I hate retracing my steps when I get lost driving - I'll always prefer to carry on driving into nowhere hoping that I'll find my way back to where I want to be somewhere! I think turning round would seem too bonkers to me. I can try barrelling along the canal past mine on the way home though. I'll work something out. Besides, what I'm really trying to do is push more weekend miles.

I'm also mulling over finishing the commute by riding up the hill above mine.

I'm also beginning to regret that rule :(

Still the snow is slowly disappearing, mostly!

Right almost time to set off on the return journey......

My reward for todays mileage - takeaway curry mmmmmm!

Dear god, some of you lot are pretty impressive - thought I was doing alright clocking up my one hundred and fiftieth mile of the year today!

Would quite like a top twenty spot this year, gonna have to go some if the early pace-setters keep it up though!.

itboffin - that question I asked you about regarding google documents and your training log a couple of weeks ago...got it sorted now. It's quite a nice tool once you get your head round it, isn't it?

Well done Toothbrush - but don't take chances mate, better to get home safe and drop a place or two on the stats.

Came into work by car today with Mrs Benno. Will try to put some miles in tomorrow but can't see me doing any more than 30 - I feel a bit washed out.

It's a bit embarassing that I haven't done over 50 miles since I got the bike in November 2008

Hey ITB - nice curry last night? My current favourite from the local is a Chicken Moglai Madras, had one last night washed down with a couple of sherbets - lovely :):):)

Meh my wife who is so not intrested in bikes does double my normal commute, ie 8 miles around trip than 4. and since she can't drive. she must see the best part of 2000 miles a year.

Very nice thanks, we don't have any takeaway restaurants locally so it's a pretty rare event, in fact we don't really have anything other than fields, hills, trees and animals, the jump out in front of you kind esp. when it's really dark & foggy.

I was tired within several seconds of finish a rather small helping, or so I thought, this afternoon I'd worked myself up thinking mmmm left over curry..... doh! barely enough for one mouthful, very disappointing

Broccoli soup instead  mmmm so much better than left over curry

My legs are grumbling a little as well, then again 170 miles in 3 days is a little tough on them.

Back to commuting next week as well :D

I messed up big time the weekend (Sunday being my only day off).

    Housework all morning

Then my front brake needed removing and a proper degrease, noticed both wheels needed truing, adjust rear mech - then a text from my daughter asking for a lift in half an hour.

Absolutely zero, nil, none, feck all miles done this weekend.

I'm a dull fecker and am feeling rather peed off with myself!

My legs are killing me, I tried a couple of miles on the turbo but it seems I have a really bad build up of lactic acid or something :?

Just rescheduling my morning meetings i'm guessing it's going to take more than an hour to get to the station in the morning. :(

You speak the truth, wise one

and it took me 1hr 18min this morning, partly due to the fog but mostly because I was pootling :)

Likewise... I kept Sunday free for a nice ride. Gave the bike a once over first thing and discovered a 1cm hole in the rear rim. Bontrager wheels pieces of sh1t. Will keep me off all week I imagine. Gutted.

I managed 69 miles up the coast and back via the big hills. Got so cold had to bail at 2 miles from home. Was numb all over and blue, still metric century and my longest ride. Now im away with work for the next week so im going to drop like a stone down the leader board.
