2010 off to a very poor start for me. Friday was a... recovery day, if you know what I mean. Zero miles.

Good off-road blast with some mates on Sat.

Today, the roads around here must be 95% + free of ice. Only 95%. So I stayed in bed.

Commuter bike, Dahon Cadenza Solo is pissing me off. I like fettling with my other bikes but not this one. I just feel like time & money spent on that bike are wasted. Broken spoke again, rubbish brakes etc...

Dahon is going to become a donor for some kind of 'project'.

Going to try a different strategy this year and commute on my good bikes.

Including the rarely-used Brompton. It's got mud-guards, y'see. And if I can get that great big collapsable pedal off I'm going to swap on some SPDs too.

So, here's to 2010! Happy obsessive mile munching to all.

Welcome back Mc may I suggest you single speed that bike, one of the guys at work had the same and said the same until he ditched the gears.

Edit: hold on a minute isn't that model already single speed?

are you tell me/us that you did your 8000+ miles on that?

    I HATE YOU :P

CiB - there is a bug in the YTD column - it adds up all the miles even if they have been deleted. The WTD column is correct but YTD is not. This error has appeared for me and bigricky. I'm not complaining about being top but I don't want to cheat!

    Thanks

Hmm - normally these things are quite obvious when I go and stare at the SPs or whatever; this one isn't and I haven't the time to sort it for a couple of days.

If your miles look wrong after deleting a trip, update it manually using the Update Total Miles thing to the right of the normal miles add section. I'll get round to it, in a day or two.

Yeah it's a single-speed, bull-horned, folding, urban mountain bike. I've had it less than a year. The frame is good, the hubs are bling-red; I like the bars. But the wheels are rubbish, the brakes are truly crap.

Did about 4k miles on it last year. The rest spread across 5 other bikes.

I am in. I added my mileage to YTD when signing up and it does not appear in January, can I fix that?

Fixed it now. Two of the trips were not commuting but have worked out how to add types of ride now.
  • Updated 2009 and finished on 4609 which isn't bad as I didn't really start riding in anger til August.

Got my first ride on 2010 on the Sunday club run but had an off on some ice outside Malmesbury and my hip, head and elbow are proper sore today so can't see me adding much this week .......

That's the closest I've been to the top 10 since about 6 months ago. :D

I was too ill to take advantage of the long weekend - for various reasons - but then this is supposed to be for commuting miles

I have a depot insepection planned on Friday out in the far west of London - weather permitting, it's a 60 mile round trip. That'll put me ahead of schedule. 8)

Another one for you CiB. If you delete all your rides your name is removed form the leader board and you cant add anything back. Much obliged if you could once again save me.

  • I think I have cocked up, just signed up (Mountainboy) and added the 40 miles I did today but I suppose that should be showing in the Jan column not the YTD?

Defintely not a game - just got in from my specially extended commute - 21 miles each way, via Erith. I am almost totally frozen. The only bit of me that still moves are my chattering teeth. I'm dictating this.

the year to dates appear to be incorrect in some cases - that's why the order is wrong.

I haven't bothered to add my 0.16 miles.

Oddly enough I'm 13th which ever way you sort it.

But seriously - I hope it's sorted out by the time I take my position in the top 5 sometime by the end of the week.

    I'm 3rd, that can't be right?

Is everyone outside London snowed in?
Looks like big snow here tonight, so Jan training could get postponed for a while.

Not snowed in, iced in - on the train this week and hating every minute.
  • Wohoo, first commute of 2010 done, was touch and go this morning on the motivation front, but funnily the prospect of getting some miles on the stats board worked the trick :-)

Okay new plan, after yesterdays slow hot smelly choob journey I'm now not doing the choob, bike is sat next to me on the train, so it's bike/train/bike result!

Saves money and adds more miles to the daily grind :)

Yeah - that's true since we rolled into the new year and I had to resolve new year entrants' issue. Either hang on until later and I'll fix that, or sign up again with a small variation on your user name and start from there.
For now, don't delete all of your miles input, including the zero miles one. I'll sort it later.
I think I have cocked up, just signed up (Mountainboy) and added the 40 miles I did today but I suppose that should be showing in the Jan column not the YTD?
No. YTD is cumulative; during January YTD & Jan will be the same value.
