I'm not on the list either. Lucky escape?

  • Is the guy on the Boardman hybrid a poster on here? Cycles Twickenham to the Wharf and had an argument with a truck on the highway this morning?

The terrifying statue things on 'route 52' that I used for the ride home tonight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfw2NqeA ... e=youtu.be

Came round the corner and nearly pooped my lycra when these appeared out of nowhere!

I just posted the 'raw' video as it came off the cam as I couldn't be bothered with all the waiting that goes with editing stuff in Movie Maker, hence the fizzle-out-to-nothing ending.

They're statue type things, unfortunately they're hidden behind a hedge as you come round a corner and I was a bit on edge having just escaped from a cow filled field(!). I came round the corner and as my lights swept across they lit up the ghostly figures that you can see in the vid.

  • What do you think, should I report this bus driver?

  • What for? Looks like you are getting excited over nothing.
  • Ignore the troll. He likes to post stupid comments and think himself very clever.

Personally I'd send a polite note to the company explaining what was done incorrectly and ask the driver be warned about the possible consequences of his actions

  • This is all very strange and weird:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... L8qGC4ZDq8

Taxi driver intimidates a cyclist whilst filming him:
    M: INAUDIBLE
F: Just say I had someone in my taxi and they are willing to come forward as a witness as well.
    M: INAUDIBLE
    F: There he is (LAUGHS)
F: Do you want to put your metre on, then if he does go to the council you can say you were on a job.
M: First light he's had it.
That's conspiring to lie to the police and the taxi firm.

Having seen some of the other videos that the chap who is filmed here has made and then posted himself on YouTube I imagine there is more to this than meets the eye.

    Update from the cyclist:
I am now back from the police station. I had a meeting with the inspector and the licensing enforcement officer from the council.

Apparently this morning, the guy rung in to make a complaint. He said that I had been abusive and threatening on Marsh road (just before the vid started) and that I was purposefully blocking his way preventing him from overtaking.
I had my laptop with me and showed the two gentleman the video of the whole length of Marsh Road. Not once did I see the driver. The first time was when I was on the bridge.

The inspector wasnt very happy with this.

I explained the two other occassions on NYE that I saw him but the inspector said that unless when the passenger swore at me the driver slowed down, it would be difficult to get two cases of harassment (you need two). The NYD vid though was definately harassment.

The inspector said that the council could do far more damage than the police in this situation (take his license away). The police will put a harassment warning by his name so that if he does it again, "he will get locked up". The councilman also said that he had a previous with this guy and he is known to the council. He then said that as I passed the police station on NYD, there was a police car following the guy which was seen on CCTV.

I gave a statement to the councilman and burned the videos on to two discs for them both.

I cannot comment on what has happened yet but the driver is coming in tonight to make a statement and the video of Marsh road will be shown to him. It seems like there will be a good outcome though.
  • Result. Well done that cyclist, he's only 19.

    Update from the cyclist:

I thought I recognised this guy. I see him quite regularly in North Wales. Sadly he's often waving his arms and shouting at random cars/pedestrians for what starts as minor (or none) incidents. From looking at his Youtube videos a number seem to be have featured this taxi company!

It appears from his most recent video that his approach is now more reasoned and measured.

The police have now hit the taxi diver with a harassment order:
The inspector has now called me. He has issued the guy with an harassment order as the driver was purposefully and intentionally following and harassing me.

When the driver mentioned about Marsh road, the inspector said that he has seen the whole video (including before marsh road) and the driver was nowhere to be seen. Apparently the guys face dropped

I suspect the council will also discipline the driver.

Since yesterday when I first saw his YouTube channel lots (prob in excess of 50%) of his videos appear to have been deleted. I imagine this would be for the benefit of his police complaint as it many of them showed him acting in what could be described as a harassing manner himself...

Quite savvy then (a bit like the whirr of the shredder when the auditors are in town).

50/50 IMHO. That's the exact reason why I never pull up alongside the leading vehicle (from his point of view there was no need to indicate as there was no one to warn when he stopped - you unexpectedly came down the inside of a line of traffic)

Well you could apply that to any car you wait in front of. They might be taking that left hand turn.

What annoyed me was that both him and his passenger knew I was in front of them. While it appears he thinks I was in the wrong lane (I wasn't) he still overtook and cut me up when he should of hung back.

And he should of been using his indicators by the time he has at the traffic lights.

It is a nasty junction TBH though, it really needs an ASL there.

As they were stopped on the stop line you must have crossed it to be infront in the first place.

Agree 50/50 at best and if you can't follow the highway code yourself, why should you expect others too?

75/25 in the cyclist's favour IMHO. The driver knew the cyclist was there and still pulled a needlessly dangerous move to cut in front on him. Saying it was 50/50 is more or less condoning an impatient and reckless left-hook. A bit of anticipation and an ASL would have helped though...
