Hey Guys.
Thinking of doing another route on the North Yorks Moors on Friday, probably be around the 15-20 mile mark and starting about 2pm-4pm ish. So if anyone is interested I'll post the route up tomorrow sometime.0 -
Also, we are doing a repeat of this route on Saturday 28 August.
Walna Scar Road
Think it took us 5 or 6 hours last year, with a good push up Walna Scar from Seathwaite. Spot on descent from the top though, with around 25 mins of DH action, depending how fast you are.....
Anyone up for it?0 -
Ride on Friday is now changed to Saturday, as I need to be somewhere on Friday afternoon. At the mo don't know start time but probably around the 10am time.
Here are the routes I'm thinking of doing, depending on how knackered me and our kid feel, like I said, anyone free to join us.
Cockayne Figure of Eight
Frandale to Baysdale and Back via Incline
Both starting in Low MIll0 -

morning guys. as my dad has shut the beverley shop and moved in here... it now frees me up on thursdays and fridays. still have no car mind, but i can do the local routes.
...although i am fully booked for the next 3 weeks!0 -
^^ i noticed that bobs bikes, walked past the other day and said the the missus, it'd been there for years, since way before i was a wee nipper
Stu... don't forget me0 -
Hey guys, I've not been out much lately but I did manage a local this Sunday just up Boothferry Rd down to little Swiss, up to North Ferriby then across Melton overpass and then into the woods through to Brantingham then kind of came out at the back and followed a few roads back to Willerby and back down from there to Botthferry Rd, it was 21.49 Miles and it took me 3 hrs due to a few loops in the woody bits which were fun. I think it's the route I did with Barkey last year except after Brantingham I went a different route back.
I would love to do the moors but with work I don’t get out till 7pm during the week. I may be going to Dalby on Sunday though if all goes well.0 -
Went up to the Moors on my lonesome on Saturday, did the 27 mile ride I posted up earlier in the week. Took me just over 4 hours, tough ride, little bit wet on the ground due to all the rain, but some good descents.
I was also up at Dalby today for a quick blast to test out my new rig....
It felt good, gave me more confidence over the jumps. It seems to climb good, but I'll have test it out on longer ascents and bigger DHs.0 -

Biggus86>dont worry mate, aint 4got about you, youre only one upto now who fancies walna scar, think i might struggle tho, aint been out for over a week, and dont know at mo when ill be back on bike,as ive got a lot of pain in wrist at mo,and before you say anything, its not from over use0 -

I heard more travel. looking good though0 -
nice bike giggs what have you done with your kona and those nice new wheels that you just bought
i'm of next friday if your going out anywhere0 -
More travel is the way forward I was told as well Barkey, I ain't gone tubeless yet though....
Kept my Kona for fitness rides or when we do a journey round Brantingham. Still got the clickety-click on the new bike, just not as many clicks
Was suppose to be out this Friday but it looks like rain now, so I might bring the ride forward to tomorrow sometime. Me and our kid were looking to do the Walna Scar ride next Saturday so at the mo wouldn't do Friday, let you know early next week though Si.0 -
Nice bike Giggs, took one of a test rode at Dalby (the Dune) all I seem to remember is that the seat wasn't something you'd want to keep for long. lol. Would be ideal for days in the peaks/lakes/scotland etc!Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

Would be very iinterested. However with being at work on saturday and also not having a car I won't be able to make it. However,
I should try and sort something out about going on a ride soon as from the 27th of September I start a new job in Bristol. So as you'd imagine, it would be my last chance in the next few weeks to go riding witih you all.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

Cheers Matt, it is a nice bike. Took it down Black Hambleton on Thursday and just flew over the rocky section, looking forward to the DH on Walna Scar. Shame about not being able to make Saturday and I didn't know you were packing your bags for Bristol, good luck mate.
Gaz, bet Dalby was dry and very dusty, I was surprised how dry it was up there last Monday.
Regarding the weekends ride I think we will probably setting off around the 5.30-6.00 mark, our kid.....
So, is there just me, our kid and biggus riding? That is right isn't it biggus....?0 -

Dalby was great, the weather was a little hot and it was quite dry in places but we had a blast. We started at the visitor centre and did the full Red Route. One of the group did come off about 6 mile past Dixons Hollow the bit with the dip and you either go over it or left and hit the roots just before the sweeping downhill bit. He went left and his front wheel got caught on a root and he was thrown off, he was ok though just a badly swollen and bruised arm. He had to do the escape after that but the 3 off us carried on and finished the route.
I would love to join up with you for Saturday it sounds awesome, but I also got to work so will have to give this one a miss....0 -

I'm down in bristol until Thursday next week. (its my Bday on Friday, im going to the Velodrome in Manchester on sunday )
Only working Saturdays, so any week day will be fine. Don't have a car of course, but its cheap enough to get the train to Bev/Hull.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

It prob would be cheaper to Bev to be honest, as i'd have to get a train to scar and then to Malton. Could meet you anywhere in Bev though. Could meet you near Molescroft roundabout as you head out to Bainton or whatever. Or near Morrisons (on the bev bypass). lol.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset
