Good pics again there Matt, me and Barkey did a nice loop on the Moors on Tuesday. Think it as the last one you joined us on. Couldn't believe how dry it was. Hardly any water and no boggy bits.....

    Very freeflowing.....

Cheers mate, only problem with going to watch DH races it makes me think that I should be having a go at them! ha. You didn't come across any snow then? ;) Did quiet enjoy the descent into Chruch houses, will be doing at a few more times when I've got a car sorted. (I don't have much luck with cars you might of noticed...)

    Hi Guys!

Back from Morzine now, it was absolutely awesome!!!! Wish I didn't have to come home

Morzine is probably the best place in the French Alps to get to everywhere round the area that is fantastic for riding. (I would say that what with it being the only place i've been! ha ha!) The DH tracks are epic, steep, fast, techy and flowy! Quite a challenge on the old Spicy so Mattys SX Trail had to come out to play until one of the other guys broke his air shock and I lent him the SX!

Aside from the DH there are tons of XC, Jump Parks, Freeride, Northshore, Slopestyle etc, aswell as mountain hiking, horse riding, parapenents, zip lining, lake swimming etc, etc!

The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful! The town is fun and lively. I would really recommend staying there for a Holiday in the Alps during summer. We stayed at www.riders-retreat.co.uk a self catered shared chalet with own private onsuite rooms. Really well priced and really nice to stay at.

I'll post some pics up soon :)

Sounds like the perfect way to spend any week! Heard lots and lots of good things about Morzine, and abit of good stuff about riders-retreat on singletrackworld forum. From the pics I've seen on your facebook, it looked amazing esp the swiss national course! Epic!

How did you find Matty's SX trail in the alps? Can imagine having a coil shock would work alot out quiet well.

The SX worked a treat in the Alps, yep coil shocks all the way for the DH out there. Can just about get away with air shocks over here on the not so huge tracks but in the Alps its a different story! Really really want a coil sprung bike now, suppose I could change the shocks on the Spicy but I want to keep that as an XC bike. Think i'll keep borrowing the SX till I can afford a DH!

Sorry for taking ages to getting round to posting some pics up, I will get to it soon.

Altern, Giggs - have a good time in Scotland!!
    delightfully dangerous!
  • Hi

Does anyone know any other local routes worth trying?

    Thanks

Danielle, it were ok in Scotland, just too many of them damn midgies....!!!

Just Started, if you look on here ( http://wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm ) you could work out your own route and then explore. I only know of the local jaunt you may have done already, though you can expand it by taking in abit of the High Hunsley Circuit, which takes you around the back of Hessle Golf Club near Raywell.

Other than that, if you ask Barkey or sl they may have some more expansions of the route...?

If anyone is interested, I'm looking at doing a small loop on the North Yorkshire Moors on Friday afternoon, its around the Goathland Moor area.

myself and giggs are looking at doing the 30 mile ride on moors out of mbr sumtime before this nice weather turns back to winter,or doing a epic all day ride, which might be in peaks, and is a hard route which last time we tried it we 4ought we could do in 4 hours and ended up taking a lot longer and that was with cutting off the end of the route round mam tor...which ever we do will mean prob out all day.....if anyone fancies joining us,put youre name down, and we can try to sort out some car sharing...... :)

did a little bit of the ride out of mbr on moors yesterday with bro,5 miles into ride we was looking at heading back to car as we was soaked through when we got to boltby forest, luckily the sun came out and coaxed into adding anouther 13 miles to ride, total distance of 18.45 miles, top speed of 40.1 mph, took us about 3 hours to do it,aching a bit today :).....would give you all the route but no maps are working on my lappy at mo,well worth it for the decent down black hambleton tho :D
