Yesterday we stayed locally round Leeds. Plan was to hit Adel Woods, Thackley and Staiburn (sp?), only managed Adel for an hour as I landed a jump my foot slipped off my pedal and gave me a nice deep gash on my shin. So it was off to A&E! Gave up on A&E it was going to be a four hour wait so got some steristrips and patched myself up! :P

Hope you are ok, but I wanna see some pics...

    Can you beat this?

Ouuhh!! That looks nasty! I don't think its on the same scale as that, mine is only about 5cm long, and its only the one luckily! Did you have yours stitched or just left them? I do have a pic but Matt needs to upload them off his phone, no way near as impressive i'm afraid though!

Yeah, im'a coming, scrounged some money off the gf. Need a ride because i'm not sure what kind of riding state i'll be in come Sunday morning. Oh and the gears shift perfectly, don't think i'll need to re-tune them... 20mins vs 4hrs eh haha

danielle - who needs stitches... pah lol, the more gnarlier it is the bigger story you can get away with when you tell the story of how you got it... "Came off when riding and got my leg caught down a badger hole... bloody badger chewed my legs to bits it did!!" LOL

    Random question.

What size rucksacks do you guys / girls have for these trips out. I've got a camel bak with no storage, so looking to buy a new one so when I come for a ride I can hold stuff I need.

I've seen two decent priced bags, ones 10L and the other is 30L.

What size is suitable? Any suggestions?

I got the CB Chaos... 2L water, mp3/snack pouch, inner storage, outer storage and outer clips for helmet... quite handy, though i wouldn't mind some bigger inner storage so i could double it for day to day rucksack.

AJay85> Probably not going to help, ain't got a clue about the size of my rucksack. All I can tell you is, it is a North Face Hammerhead. It can fit usual stuff in, also jacket and trousers. Think it has a 3.5 litre reservoir.

  • Matt> Yours looks good, but how did it look when you wiped away all that blood...

Well theres still a nice scar on my knee from it all, couple of inch long... If you want more scars though, SPD's are the way to go ;)

Giggs > You're just too hardcore aint ya! :P I thought it'd look cool being a proper scar but then thought again when I remembered that being a girl usually means wearing skirts and dresses and so thought again! ha ha!

AJay85 > I've got a cheapy Gelert one with a 2L reservoir, can fit a bit of stuff in it but its no where near big enough really!

Hope you guys had a good ride today! I'm off tomorrow so if the weather is fine I may go out locally if anyone fancies it??

  • We did Cut Gate today, starting in Langsett, going to Howden Reservoir and back. Enjoyed the ride, even if it was bit boggy and slippery in parts. At times you are riding through a stream, picking your way over loose rocks, good fun though.

And the last DH on the way back, it seems to go on for ever, nice and rocky. Anyway, here are some pics.
